Where are people bringing their harness through the firewall?

Trying to figure out where to bring my harness through the firewall on my 5.3 swap. I am mounting the computer under the dash and want to hide as much of the wiring as possible. Not sure where to bring it through the firewall or what type of a grommet to run where the harness will come thru. Picture would be great cause I cant find the info in the forums that I'm looking for. if anyone knows of some posts where I can find this info, that would be awesome too. Thanks guys

I'm running mine through behind the motor, in the curved part of the firewall, on the passenger side. Runs through the biggest grommet I could find. It's kind of hidden back there, so it's not super obvious. This is the only picture I could find showing it's location. You can see it just to the left of the cylinder head.

Thanks man exactly what I was looking for. do you know where you found the grommet? its pretty sad as many people on here who have done LS swaps that you are the only one who posted a picture. Thanks again.

I picked it up at Goodguys from a vender there that had all kinds of electrical accessories. If I can find the business card I got from them or figure out who they are, I'll let you know.

I think it's 4" in inside diameter, It tapered down to maybe an inch or so, and I tripped that taper part out.

This was the company, but I'm not seeing the grommet I picked up from them on their website. Might be able to get one if you call them.

Re: Where are people bringing their harness through the firewall?

Many folks including myself have indeed done an LS swap on a C/K pickup. Most of us however mounted the ECU under the hood just like the rig your engine came from was setup. The location your looking for is where the TBI harness passed through on the R/V pickups . If you google V10 pickup harness firewall grommet or something similar I would imagine many pics and a replacement grommet would be at your fingertips.

Good luck

BP Automotive did my harness and he supplied the grommet. I went in right behind my motor as well, just like MattPSU.
