no battery.test wires with battery charger ?
Can I check hot wires on a 78 chev truck with a battery charger hooked up to the battery cables. Trying to clean up some wires but don,t want to keep taking the battery out of other truck all the time.

Sounds like a fire about to happen. Test with tester! Unless you would like to see your hard work melting.

Re: no battery.test wires with battery charger ?
Depends on the charger. If it is something like a 6 amp unit, should be fine. Just keep in mind that most battery chargers don't have very good voltage filters and at low current draw, may over volt the system a bit. Lead acid batteries are a lot better at handling voltage spikes then vehicle electronics.
Plus some of the "smart" chargers may not provide voltage if they don't see a voltage already on the circuit. |
