Re: 93 Pace Trucks
The clear delam was not just these trucks it seems a lot of the manufacturers had problems with clear for the first few years they started using it. The trouble was the problem didn't show up for a few years and they had painted hundreds of thousands before the trouble was found and a cure developed. They were stripping and painting on warrantee for a while if you complained loud enough.

Re: 93 Pace Trucks
that paint job turned out great. i hear black is hard to get right because all the imperfections really show up.

Re: 93 Pace Trucks
It's been a while but it's time for an update. We had the bed sprayed with bedliner and it looks great. I'm spending this weekend cleaning it up for the show at the Budweiser brewery next Saturday. They usually get a couple hundred cars for the show.

Re: 93 Pace Trucks
Thanks, it's been a long road......
Thanks... I hope you gave your friend the window stickers too. I understand the need for downsizing. My insurance company thinks I'm crazy. All these vehicles and only one driver.

Re: 93 Pace Trucks
Hi, all - I just found this thread after John bumped it the other day. I'm John's friend who bought his '93 pace truck. I freakin' love this thing. It's currently my daily.
Mine needs some cosmetic work and will likely get a repaint. A lot of the decals are pretty worn so i thought about stripping them off and running without but I'm pretty fearful that paint will go with it and I'm not quite ready to do an all-over paint job. Anyway, it runs good and i love it. Glad to have found this thread.

Re: 93 Pace Trucks
Nice work! Paint turned out like a mirror. Although a little distorted mirror, so you don't need to be concerned with how it depicts you. Kinda reminds me of the Keep on Truckin guy. The distortion anyway. Not looking like the guy himself.

Re: 93 Pace Trucks
Man, I'm hopping in on this late but fresh after you showed it. Looking fine alright. It really came out sharp.
Hey Robbie, I know what I'd do. Let it marinade. Take care of the paint/vinyl best you can but don't worry about it aging. Have the graphics handy by the time you tear into it for a paint job. It's cool to see the weathered limited editions in their well aged states.

Re: 93 Pace Trucks
It's been a year but we showed it yesterday at the Budweiser Classic show yesterday. She actually won people's choice in her class. Chevyland (Eric) and his friend Rod came to check out the show too. Here's a pic of Eric and I and the trophy and participant plaque.
