That W900 hood on the 1st page is a score and a half! I used to have a 69 and sold it like a fool.

I got stoked over that W900A hood.

I have a W900A that we started restoration on and the guy quit that was working on it so it has been in waiting a while.

Looks like belt driven water pumps? Love to have those in the front yard regardless of what they are! The burl pics are great.

Yep, going to be fun! Stuck a couple of super singles under it & a bumper. We are going to go for a chrome one. Let the scrounging begin!

Say it isn't so? One popped up on FB this week in Nebraska. It is a working truck for $20k though.

Oh yeah! That looks sweet. You could probably build a shed with the front looking like a cab with split windshield and a visor. Kill 2 birds with one stone. Those hoods still bring a grand or more around here.

Cool stuff! Better get some anchors on that hood, or it might suffer "mysterious disappearance" some night.

Meet Petunia, the pink pig. I made it from an out-of-date propane tank. I have about 7 tanks- people keep giving them to me! My Maltese dog hid under a table in the back yard and barked at it, until I "introduced" them.

Cool beans! That is without a doubt yard art. I could see why a dog would get riled by that stance alone... not to mention it looks like some sort of cyber critter

. Are the eyes just holes? Kinda freaky for me right there. Barkbarkbark bark!

I should have put "mad" eyebrows on it. The eyes are the deepest pits of hell- 5/16" carriage bolt heads, painted black. The face was a piece of wood, which got crummy and fell off, due to exposure to the weather. I'm going to get a steel plate to weld on this time. The legs are the bottom portions of a metal yard swing. The feet of those legs look like hooves from a distance.

Heck yeah, roof repair looks artistic to me! As for Petunia, the wife just gave it a thumbs up. Very cool.

Special-K, as long as those license plates keep the rain out, it's all good. The only admirers of that yard art will be people flying drones or something, though.

Special-K, your type of roof repair was used quite frequently in Bodie. They covered whole houses with pieces of tin cans. Anything to cut down the wind.

I've been to Bodie. I got about 2" taller from all the mud that stuck to the bottoms of my shoes, walking around that place. I spent a fair amount of time hosing the mud from under the fenders of my '56 Chevy 210 wagon too, when I got home. That is some sticky clay!

I need to go see Brodie! There was a garage in an old town near here that was pasted with old license plates for siding. Foe some odd reason they took them all down. These had been painted over time and again with that silver roof coating, so it wasn't to sell them I'd think. No new siding in their place, and the ones along the gable line are still there because the soffit went over the corner.

My little barn needs a new roof for sure. I have a t&g cedar ceiling upstairs and I have squirrels getting in. One morning after a heavy rain I notice a 3" hole through the shakes where one of those S.O.B. gnawed out a new door! All that rain was running right in there. That's when I grabbed an old tag and shoved it in. But I noticed other spots they had gnawed, so grabbed more as well as scraps of aluminum coil stock. Can't do the roof yet (at least not the other side) because a huge Maple is grown into the building. The tree is too huge to take on, so either I move the building over or tear it down to build the garage I really need. It's a catch 22, moving is cheap but I want the garage I have no money to build. Holding out for the garage, might have to move the building first, then build the garage, then just connect the two since the garage site is beside it. Long story, but that is why my repairs are so temporary... not that I'm not proud of them

I wish my yard looked like this! Good thing you can't remove stuff from Bodie, or it just might!

As for the mud, best to visit when hot or winter before the thaw.
