Re: Most clever forum names
My handle was born out of frustration.
My CB handle had always been either Hammerhead (I'm a carpenter) or Big Block. The first time I needed a handle for a forum I found those were long gone. I tried some of the obvious and they were already used. The reality of the WWW set in and I thought screw it, I need something so jacked up nobody will copy it. I have seen QWERTY on another forum, but I can't remember which one.

Re: Most clever forum names
Certainly not the most clever for sure BUT: When I first joined this website I like others tried many other user names but each one I tried was already taken. Sooo..... out of sheer frustration I tried my old CB handle from the early 70's.
When I came home from Viet Nam in April of '70 my one and only F*** product was a '69 Mustang Mach 1, 351, 4 spd. CBs were big back then and I used "Ironhorse Mobil" as my handle when talking "skip". A Mustang is a horse, a car is "mobile" so there it was.... Ironhorse Mobil. All I had to do was drop the mobil and became "Ironhorse" when I joined this website. Back long ago everyone always rode horses and a pickup became a popular mode of transportation so it all fit. Not the most clever but it worked out.

Re: Most clever forum names
So many of us said the name was born out of frustration. Is it possible your parents shared that frustration with us?

Re: Most clever forum names
That's ok, he did it how I meant it to be. Just shows how fresh to computers I was when I registered. I'm stuck with a mistake for a name... which shows how many hoots I give about it.
I think BCNYA is a good one. Would work on a tag. davischevy leaves me wondering who it might be and what he might be into. My buddy was on here with GN4U2C because he is monster big on the Buick turbo G-bodies. He has had more than I can remember and can build one to run like a scalded pig. Probably helps that his cousin owns gbodyparts.com

We all know that high RPM is a killer. I try to keep my personal RPM to a minimum, thus extending my serviceability. An occasional beer or a shot of rum keeps things running smoothly. Going on 76 it seems to be working so far.
I tell everyone "I'm not very fast, but I sure am slow."

Re: Most clever forum names
Slomotion is one of the clever names I couldn't think of earlier. I was born zippy, got mature and spent a lot of effort to slow it down, and now I am there. But still with zip at ready, so still watching it. It's those types of well thought out simple phrases that stops impulsive types in their tracks I myself like to use. Things an ole cowpoke would come up with. I feel the world is zipping around and I am at my own pace as unaffected as I can keep it. I like it smart and simple.
I always loved this song and it always comes to mind when I'm having this type of thought. I see people blindly jumping feet first all around me. Enough to make me think up the bumper sticker I plan to get rich on, THINK FIRST. I see people catching themselves just as they were doing a mindless thing and my standard thought is "Now your thinking" I think Harry's 6t727t2 is as clever as it gets. I have had a lot of ideas for a better name with the time I've had to think. But never been much on name changing. You are what you always were and that's all there is to it. So, since I'm a hypocrite, I was just thinking the other day if I should go back to Super-K. It actually is the name I had first... ey? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGPoxvyrx44

Re: Most clever forum names
Last night I should have had what happened earlier at the bank come to mind. Was in a hurry, had a couple things to take care of, so I went in. There's one of those guys, he's got both the gal's attention with his, I must admit funny, BS. But still, let my teller focus on my business and hold that thought, please. Then he goes in to BS about golf with Jim, the manager. In my conversation with my teller I mentioned a thing I needed to talk to Jim about when I had more time. She said, Oh go on in. They're just shootin' the bull. No sh!+, the whole bank could hear what he was saying. Hey, better than some stuffy old bank. I like this kind of thing going on, but the guy turned to me already sitting in the chair and says, "Hold on buddy, this'll only take a minute". I said, "Oh that's ok. I don't like golf anyway". He shut up and left and I told Jim I was sorry, but I was in a hurry. He laughed pretty good

Re: Most clever forum names
Definitely a winner. There was a guy on here called poke the smot. I switch it around like that too sometimes, like saying "What a muckin' fess", a little better than the other.

Re: Most clever forum names
I just remembered a favorite since I've come on here, but he doesn't show up much anymore... SEE TEN. That's what he has on his truck tags as well. Clever.
My buddy used to be on here with GN4U2C. He's always been big on the Buick Turbos and mostly does those forums. That's Grand National. I can think of plenty better names after all this time, but I'd never change it.
