Re: What kind of Music do YOU like ? Post it up, Please
I thought of this song that is one of my dozens of all time favorite songs. Supercool! I use the old saying (the title) often when it fits... which is fairly often

I took my grand daughter to breakfast this morning in my blazer and when we got back to the house this song was playing on the radio. She asked if we could sit in the driveway listening 'til it was over.

Re: What kind of Music do YOU like ? Post it up, Please
I've been going to a few shows lately, seems like all the bands I like come thru this time of year. Over the last couple weeks I saw Maria Muldaur, Tab Beniot & Coco Montoya. (Have we mentioned Coco yet?) and next week Tommy Castro w/ Mike Zito.
Coco Montoya: https://youtu.be/Z31-J7Qc3S4 He was with John Mayall back in the day, along with Walter Trout (who is coming around in a couple months) Here they all are together, Coco is featured at about 2:50 or so, sitting in the crowd and just a jammin': https://youtu.be/2rEdU8maRcg Heck of a nice guy, too!

I always wanted to be a DJ on the radio. I think I'm a natural at blending songs together through a free form flow. And in case after hearing Aaron belting it out you feel like singing, words are included for those less familiar:

Re: What kind of Music do YOU like ? Post it up, Please
Golly, I'm sorry. It was just a joke. I didn't mean to kill this thread with that one! ^^^
Now... I'm sure most are familiar with Fleetwood Mac. Back around 89-70 is when I discovered them, then followed them through their changes... and watched other catch on much later in one of their later forms. When I'd say I was really into the early Fleetwood Mac, I would get, "Me too! Bare Trees was an awesome album!". How far back do you know them? I first knew them as a blues rock band, as well as straight up blues! If you like the blues, what do you think of this? How about this one?

Re: What kind of Music do YOU like ? Post it up, Please
I was hoping you'd see the thread brought back. Some great covers. My dad turned me on to blues. He came up with Leadbelly, Josh White, all those found on 78s. Then I did, too. These white boys did a fantastic job with that old stuff and this is the Black Betty I came up with. Just as raw as it was meant to be
I'll add Dust My Blues

Re: What kind of Music do YOU like ? Post it up, Please
Very cool! Glad you liked these guys. That was a very epic album in the history of American music that is relatively unknown. I only knew of them through my father who had a thing for roots music in it's most raw forms. He grew up in Baltimore, born 1924, and would lay on the sidewalk outside a cellar window to listen to blues and jazz sessions. I think the only person I know that I have mentioned these guys to and was familiar with them was Mark Wenner, the Nighthawks band leader/harmonic man. He has studied the roots of the blue about as deep as it gets.
That's my brother-in-law Paul Bell on guitar

Re: What kind of Music do YOU like ? Post it up, Please
He sure can, glad you enjoyed hearing. He has played with many others than his own band.
I haven't played in years, but drums were my thing when I was younger. I don't think I've played, to change things up a (good) bit, I'd like to play the song that was my all time inspiration and favorite drum song. That Mitch Mitchell played some phenomenal riffs. I've always been a fan of John Mayall, and Ansley Dunbar was a hella drummer. Got to put this one out there, too. And if you like good harmonica, John can sure play, too! I always liked Charlie Nusselwhite's harmonica, too. Slowing things down here

Some great drummers past and present, but Bonham's tone is 2nd to none: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9-42mu1D9Y
Speaking of (above), Plant had some nice stuff. Mellow & pleasing to the ear stuff: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxSs...oced-Pp6GL8dB-
