I'm heading over to Dallas for a few days from England this week, wondering if any of you guys can help me out with places to go or things to do in relation to chevy trucks? It's not something we get to see over here lol!!

How long are you staying?

The C-10 Nationals are at Texas Motor Speedway on May 12-13th.

Re: Dallas truck stuff

Maybe someone in the area will chime in with local events if any.

There are several members in that area.

Re: Dallas truck stuff

Dallas area is a BIG foot print. Will you be in Dallas or one of the suburbs? If you are here Monday thru Friday you may be limited. This time of year there are weekend car shows all over the area. Chevy trucks always have a strong presence.

Ill be there over this coming weekend, staying on the east of the city near Garland although I'll have a car so can travel. How would I find out about local car meets?
Thanks

Re: Dallas truck stuff

I am in the adjoining neighborhood to Garland.

In a quick glance this show is about 25 minutes from Garland. Somewhat rural. Last year there were # of classic chevy trucks there. Not to mention all sorts of very nice classics of all shapes and sizes

Re: Dallas truck stuff

Summit Racing in Arlington and if you are out that way, you might as well go to Southwest Classics where they sell only Chevy Truck Parts.

Re: Dallas truck stuff

.

Budget some time for your visit to Summit Racing. They have an impressive show room that you'll probably enjoy poking around. There's usually a large selection of discount/clearance items and they often have a classic car or two on rotary displays inside.

Sometimes just looking around the parking lot can be a hoot!

Re: Dallas truck stuff

If you like racing you can check out Redline Raceway which is east of Rockwall just off I30 or Xtreme Raceway Park in Ferris of I45, south of Dallas. My advise is stay away from Yellowbelly, its rough.
You can go to Keller's Drive In for bite to eat its off of Harry Hines and since your in that area you could stop by Gas Monkey's. They have their Garage and a Restuarant. There is also the Reunion Tower (Ball in the Sky), Deep Ellum and West End Market Place.
If you are into sports then head out to Arlington off Hwy 360 and Randall Mill Rd to Globe Life Park (Rangers) and AT&T Stadium (Cowboys), there is also an entertainment district.
If you go west into Fort Worth then you have to check out the Stock Yards.

North of Fort Worth you have Texas Motor Speedway (NASCAR) track. You also have Cabela's of of 35W and Hwy 170 and Bass Pro Shop by Grapevine Mills Mall which are cool to check out, they have really neat displays.
