That's a great idea on the 1 ton club, how about the 1+ ton club.

Thanks guys. I can't take all the credit for the idea. I tried to secure 1-ton.com, 1ton.com, one-ton.com, etc, but they were all taken, so I decided to use TX's phrase 1 ton club. I do plan on linking to this site and any member's site that has something to do with 1 tons. The response to this thread, and the lack of info and pics on 1 tons out there also inspired it.
Jim, Don't worry, I also have plans a page or two for plus size trucks too. Big trucks need lovin' too! I'm thinking of starting out with GM trucks catogized by body style to begin with. At the moment a message or chat boardis not going to be included. Over time, if there is a demand for it, I may add it. I want to start it out a picture site, followed by exclusive tech info on 1 tons trucks. Maybe down the road we could do a swap meet page for buying and selling parts. I have been working on some graphics for the header of the page. If anyone wnats to throw in some ideas on that, it would cool!

holy shiat I love that red gmc, never thought a dually would look right with a reg fleetside bed. that looks great.
I thought about doing a cab/clip swap on that dodge, but i'd need to swap in a chevy engine I think, and by that time I might aswell pick up a good 1 ton chevy frame (see 2wd 1 tons all the time I could get for free i'm sure) and swap the running gear and bed over, then throw the extra cab I have on it find a clip, and some doors, and then put the 350 crate I have sitting in my shop in it. Dang, i've got most of the parts to do it, DON'T FREAKING TEMPT ME. heh BTW, how hard is it to swap a 2wd 1 ton over to 4x4 with that dana 60 I got? Could I use the leafs that are on it, wonder if they are the right width or if i'd jabe to reweld the spring perches on there? NO I AM NOT THINKING ABOUT THIS

will this make them stay? it used to be you had to have them somewhere at a web hosting service to get them to stay all the time. if you did it the other way they only were visible when you were on line. other wise you got the red x.....am i wrong?

I wanted to buy that GMC bad(still do). They keep e-baying it,never getting the reserve.Lost Classics in Idaho has some of the sweetest 67-72s for sale,no website. If you see a real clean one on e-bay from Boise, check it out, scroll down(lots of pictures, always),their number is listed. The guys name is Jeff Pritchett(sp?).I have the number somewhere.

Final Piece of the puzzle!!!...
...As far as the body is concerned. I picked this nice stepside bed yesterday to use the fenders for my dually project. This bed is rust-free, and is in great shape. I also removed the flat bed, and put a new set of tires on the truck over the last few days.
I am going to take fenders off, and sell the rest to recover some of my costs. If anybody needs a great bed, minus fenders, let me know. I will leave the steps, tail lights, tail gate and chains. My truck is supposed to go into the shop next week to get the rockers replaced, and then I will start on shortening the frame. After I get that done, I'm planning to mock mount the bed and modify the stepside fenders to fit the bed sides. When I get the body how I want it. I'm going to pull the front clip, cab, and bed and paint the frame and install disc brakes, the turbo Diesel and the 14 bolt dually rearend.

What do you guys think about my rims below? These were factory take-offs from a 2002 Dually, but they worked fine on the '81 Dually wheels I am going to run on my '67. I had to get newer style lug nuts with the threads on them to make them work. To me its almost got a Ralley wheel look, and I'm just tired of seeing simulators on everything. I think they will look really good a black truck.

I like the looks of those rims, are they steel with a beauty ring and cap? It is hard to tell from the pics. Either way I am envious, I only have steel rims.

tnblazerk5,
A friend of mine wanted it, so I let it go to him. If you need one, I know where a few are that are nicer than the one I had. 68gmcdually, Yes, they are just standard 16" one piece wheels like you would find on most any 1 ton made from the late 70's on. I painted them black before I had the new tires mounted. You can find these caps and rings like I have on Ebay all the time. I paid 25.00 plus shipping for these. I like the classic look it gives the rims. I will post pics of the fronts tomorrow weather permitting.

Yes, they should fit if you running '92 wheels. Below is a picture of the fronts. I really do like this look. When I get the onesin the pic mounted on the C-30, I will post a pic of them both on the truck together.

Most of the pics I have posted are all attached images, and I don't have to be online for me you to see them. All of the pics I have posted of my wheels, and the 2 other trucks that I am using to build my C-30 are all done this way. Maybe something has changed, but they must stay now.
