Re: What kind of Music do YOU like ? Post it up, Please
I put up that music from the first Rolling Stones album. Now, how about something somewhat related and recent?

Re: What kind of Music do YOU like ? Post it up, Please
Oh now you went and done it.
I was going to post up some CDB, but then I thought twice about it. Charlie Daniels is another guy I started listening to fairly early on. I think I have his fist 9 or 10 albums, but his discography is kinda strange in that the first 4 or 5 were released on Kama Sutra records, then they were all given new names and re-released on a different label. At any rate, I have everything up thru Million Mile Reflections. He was so diverse in those days, effortlessly switching from country to bluegrass to straight up rock & roll to rock-a-billy to blues and was, IMHO, a larger influence on the whole southern rock thing than ever got credit for. A few of my faves: https://youtu.be/1iA8vM5GepI https://youtu.be/RkKNWAKi5PY https://youtu.be/oK91li-Qbmo https://youtu.be/S3WsBeepuII

A couple more:
https://youtu.be/jijswCC6Eec https://youtu.be/dk6_CF7FyDg https://youtu.be/C_On9K2CptY https://youtu.be/93b96MbbmvQ https://youtu.be/m-iZ0makY1A Great music, but he lost me along the way. I saw them several times over the years, but once in particular, musta been '74 or '75 or so, they played a small theater in Salt Lake and John Lee Hooker opened up. Probably the best show I ever saw, and I don't think a day's gone by since I ain't tried to listen to at least one JLH song! https://youtu.be/eM3PuXDpKiA Look what I call my Panel \/

Hooker & Heat turned me on to John Lee Hooker.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMJB...RlW9wL3kog3RdU This is cool going back with others through our musical journey Did I post Fleetwood Mac in Chicago already? Another album that steered me to what came before with the blues https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42SW...w89BHrAG06ShAW

Re: What kind of Music do YOU like ? Post it up, Please
So much great music being put up here
It just puts you in a place and time in your life Seems, I’m just a little bit younger than most of you guys posting up I know all the music, but don’t own any of the vinyl. I still have all my records from when I was in middle and high school ‘class of 83’ Several of my friends were really into Finding music We loved rock and roll And always were looking for something new, to show off, who we discovered These guys never got huge But I was buying their albums Pretty sure I saw them in concert once, as a warm up band April wine https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YlcY_enzwmI https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=usWQOPTORn8 |

They was opening up for Blackfoot at the time. Remember Blackfoot? https://youtu.be/I0Uq8yl_CYc https://youtu.be/hBP15lRprPs This is taking me back...I was working on the drilling rigs, during the time I first hooked up with my wife. We met on Halloween, 1980, and that was maybe the first concert we went to together. The guy I was working for had a 8-track in his rig pig and only had 4 tapes, two of Blackfoot and the first two Van Halen albums. And we heard them all the way thru at least twice every day. But it was still better than nothing. And that leads into my claim of being one of the first white guys in Utah to hear rap See, there was a couple of black guys on our crew and they finally got so sick of it they insisted to bring a tape. I told him "OK-long as it ain't disco!" "Naw man" He says "This is the new stuff." So sure enough, next day he brought a tape of the Sugarhill Gang's Rapper's Delight: https://youtu.be/rKTUAESacQM And we were glad to have it! We had 20% more music to listen to! But back to Def Leopard, they went ahead and opened up that show for Blackfoot and did a fine set. It was sometime later that we started hearing familiar songs on the radio and we had a hell of a time figuring out how we knew these songs until we realized that it was those guys we'd never heard of that opened up for Blackfoot.

Re: What kind of Music do YOU like ? Post it up, Please
Charlie Hargett of Blackfoot used to run a radio show on XM, I think it was, from 10p-midnight called Smokestack. Man that was great!! 2 hours of solid good Southern Rock. I had it with DirecTv on Red Rock & Blue till they switched up (cheapened up) their music provider to Sonic

Re: What kind of Music do YOU like ? Post it up, Please
I meant to get back to Gram Parsons. I never was a fan of the whole west coast, laid back country rock thing, probably because that's where I was living at the time and the '60s thing was about rebelling so I rebelled against all the crap I was being told to like, for no other reason than to do so. All my dad listened to was the country western of his generation, and the last thing I wanted to hear was the rock & roll guys trying to play it. I got over it, though.
It was the Byrds that finally done it, but not the line-up with David Crosby and not the line-up with Gram Parsons. This album: Untitled https://youtu.be/myLTgLqFaj8?list=PL...DEawuEG_FgSh_Z I loved the rock & roll, especially the album-side version of 8 miles high and I tolerated the country stuff. But good music is good music, and finally I started getting it. Roger McGuinn said Untitled was the album he wished they'd made with Gram Parsons, but they parted ways after Sweethearts of the Rodeo. While the genre is not my favorite, I do enjoy it now. Here's a nice cover of one of Gram's songs by Kasey Chambers: https://youtu.be/-w1tXUxwDHA Here she is Channeling Hank: https://youtu.be/EQmZQVVmprk
