Re: Ackattack's Pro touring restoration thread
No good behavior.....don't know when it will be released.
I did manage to finally finish up the guages tonight: The turn signals arrows will be the turn signals. The idiot lights will be the check engine light and bright light indicator. |

Re: Ackattack's Pro touring restoration thread
The parole hearing is next Saturday!
I talked with my painter, and as of right now he should be able to finish up painting it by next Friday. So I will hopefully be making a trip down to the Portland area on Saturday to pick it up. He's going to let me know on Tuesday for sure. Also, if anything needs additional attention, I may not bring it home. I'm hoping for the best. |

Re: Ackattack's Pro touring restoration thread
Parole hearing has been post poned
Talking to the painter, they're just working on finishing it up, but not quite there and rather than do a hurry up job, I told them to take there time (I mean whats another week when I've been waiting nearly 6 months). So it will probably be done by next weekend, but I've got a trip planned already. I may have to take a day off of work to go get it. Haven't decided. |

Re: Ackattack's Pro touring restoration thread
I can't wait to see pics of it out in the sun. But I understand not wanting to rush it.
BTW, did you go with the Blue Granite Metallic off of the new Chevy Trucks, or something else? Because those pictures of the bed look more grey than my buddy's 09 that is that color.

I talked to the Warden today, and it looks like the sentence at the paint prison will be over on Saturday. He told me that the truck is done!

Re: Ackattack's Pro touring restoration thread
CAUTION: Prison break!!!!! Be on the lookout for a blue and grey 68 c-10.
Finally I got my truck back from the painter: I know all you guys want to see are pictures so here you go. Loaded it onto the trailer after assembling it: Then I got home, got it in the garage and had to throw on the nice wheels. Man what a difference the wheels make compared to the nasty rusty rallies I still have some fitting to do with the doors/fenders/hood. The cowl isn't quite fitting right either, but the I have to get in there to install the wiper stuff, so I didn't get it perfect for now. Overall the paint/body looks nice. I can definatly see the problems, but 90% of the people never would. I told the paint guy I want a "cruise in" quality paint job, and honestly, I think that is what I got, and that is what I paid for. I got a few quotes for 2 1/2 times what I paid for a show quality paint, and I'd be scared to touch it. I also think I could have done about as good of job at home, but my thinking was I didn't have time to do it. I didn't think it would take 6 months at the paint shop to get done either. Oh well. If/when I restore another car, I'm pretty sure I'll be doing the paint/body myself. And I will definatly not get it painted 3 1/2 hrs away. Oh well, live and learn. I'm happy with it. Now it's time to start putting it all together. (On a side note, I'll also be throwing Project No buck together, so for a few weeks my time will be split between the two) |
