Bernie,
Check out hytecsales.com , much, much cheaper than lizard skin and it looks like it will do more and maybe a better job.
Let me know what you think.

I found the site !!

Rust Inhibiting Paints
Ceramic Reinforced

Hy-Tech rustproof paints and paint primers feature space age ceramics which dramatically improve the rust inhibiting properties of any paint or coating.

To demonstrate the corrosion protection benefits of Hy-Tech ceramics we replaced a percentage of the zinc phosphate corrosion inhibitor in a standard metal primer with ceramic micro spheres and subjected both samples to 1000 hours salt spray exposure. As you can see by replacing the more porous conventional pigment in the coating with hard, low absorption ceramics a tighter closed film surface is achieved and rust is reduced dramatically.
rustproof primer

Additional Benefits:
With the addition of ceramics and their ball bearing like shape paints apply easier with enhanced flow and leveling. Ceramics will not dissolve in water or react with solvents, organic chemicals, acids, or alkalis. The high crush strength improves the durability of the coating and imparts improved wear, stain and chemical resistance.

Hy-Tech offers a wide variety of rust control "Solutions"

#1390 Metal Roof Wash - A water rinse rust remover for metal roofs and other metal surfaces.

#17 Rust Reform - Rust Converter, A water based, Non Toxic and Non Flammable metal treatment that chemically converts rust into an inert coating that seals out moisture to prevent future rusting. No sanding, wire brushing required.

#18 -Rust Proof Metal Primer Revolutionary Water base, low VOC, rust inhibiting primer for metal. Replaces "old" Red Lead and Zinc Chromate Primers

#1267 Metal Shield The ultimate coating for steel, autos, marine use, bridges, storage tanks and steel pipes. Stops Rust, Insulates, Deadens sound

Re: 52 Project

Thanks Ben, right now I am that stage that every projects come to....the small stuff that doesn't make for good pictures. Hopefully I am going to start doing the cab corners this weekend so I will take a few pictures. Dad was taking a few days off this week and was going to try and finish up the underside of the cab and put some POR15 on it. After that we can start the body work and get the cab back on the frame and then it will start looking like a truck again.

Re: 52 Project

Ok so I went down there today and knocked out getting the cab corners cut off. I am going to wait until we get it back upright to reinstall them. Dad is going to spray some paint on the inside area...inner cab corner. He is also going to get the bottom side painted sometime soon so when all that is done I can get the new cab corners on. Here are a couple of pictures that I took today. Enjoy

Re: 52 Project

after i did my cab corners and cowl replacements the doors didn't exactly fit. the gaps at the bottom were off. if i were you i would put on your doors before you weld the corners in. I learned the expensive way.

Re: 52 Project

Grag, Thanks for the heads up. I have been worried about that exact thing. I did fit the doors while I was doing the firewall and floor. I will double check it before I do the corners. It does seem like the door gaps are a little wide but I might be trying to compare it to a later vechicle. From the looks of the picture you posted mine are about the same so I guess that is good.

Re: 52 Project

Hey guys finally got something done on the 52. Dad got the underside cleaned and painted with POR. Looks really good. We are eventually going to undercoat it with some Lizard skin but for now it is sealed and ready to move on to something else. I still need to do the cab corners which will come in the next few weeks. Here are a couple of pictures.

Re: 52 Project

I got the passenger side cab corner welded in today. I didn't get it ground yet because my brother was using the power for the compressor. I had to do some creative fitting cause the Chinese panels don't really fit too well. Also I had a brain fart when I tacked it in last weekend. I don't know what I was thinking but I didn't even check the door gap...Duh...so I had to cut it loose and refit the corner, but it all worked out. All in all I think it turned out pretty well. Here are a couple of pictures. Enjoy.

Re: 52 Project

Thanks Kabwe, I finally got both cab corners on, welds ground and spray bombed. For the most part they came out good. The pass side fit a bunch better than the drivers side. I had a really hard time with it. I am still not completely satisfied with it. I will probably do a little finesse work on it later but I wanted to get it done so that I can move on to something else. We need to do something with the door, either redo the bottom or get a new door. Whenever we do that I will rework the cab corner to get the fit a little better. Dad is now retired so he is going to start doing some stuff like striping paint and getting the body ready for paint. He was showing me colors yesterday so I can tell he is getting excited about it. For the most part all the welding stuff is done the only thing I have left to do is fill the gas tank filler and the cowl vent. He wants to wait a little before we do the cowl vent just in case we need to access something under the dash. He thinks it might be easier to get it through there. Anyway thanks for the comment and here are a couple of picture that I took yesterday.

Looks good to me. The driver door gap above the patch look tight too, how are the hinges? might just be a simle adjustment too.

Yeah the gap is really tight. I rebuilt the hinges already and they are tight. I will probably have to mill the slots a little longer to get the door forward some. Right now I am all the way forward on the hinges and it is still rubbing the door frame. This is not the original door so that could be part of my problem....I will get it though.

Things are looking GOOD Bernie. Sometimes my biggest obstacle is getting done with one side and then after all that work... doing the same thing on the other side. good job

Ben, you are SO right, best do do the worst side first, then at least the second seems easier.
