Re: 1970 SWB : Porterbuilt to the Extreme "Double E"

I have not posted in a while. I have gotten so tired of the weather I have just been collecting parts. I have 100% of the parts (fittings, new booster, master cylinder, and proportioning valve) and tool (hydraulic flaring tool) to finish my brakes this weekend hopefully. I have my new inline fuel filter so I can complete my gas lines this weekend I hope also. I have mocked up my seat in the truck and the tilt column. A few pics of the kiddos enjoying the truck.

Got the brakes completed today. All I have left to do is put the calipers on. Also got a new booster, master cylinder, and proportioning valve.

Thanks Keith. The kids do like playing in it. My girl asked me if I could drop her off at school someday when I get it finished, I love hearing that. I think I am going to make the plunge and buy new bedsides real soon, unfortunately I can't really set up any air stuff or mount the battery without having a floor and I cant build a floor without bedsides huh? What a snowball effect.

Cool build. I just started following this one. Nice work. I hear you about the weather. I am in central PA. We have had a fun winter haven't we. Do you come out to the Spring/Fall Carlisle show to get parts? Spring Carlisle is April 24th to 27th. The have a lot of sheetmetal for 67-72's.

Thank you. And yes the weather has sucked but getting so much better. Unless you have some bedsides that are spotless and cheap, that is about the only thing i have left to get. I have everything else.

I layed down some body filler on the firewall, the inner roof panel, and some miscellaneous other spots. Now it is time to sand, sand, sand. I also went with a stock booster and mastercylinder for the brakes. I got it all painted up and ready to be installed one day.

Everyone,
Speaking of bodywork I was just wondering what a lot of you have used that is easy to work with. I am using evercoat with fiberglass for my first coat then regular evercoat for the next coat. I was wondering about a the final glaze coat to use also. After primer or before or both?

Re: 1970 SWB : Porterbuilt to the Extreme "Double E"

I am taking tomorrow off to start wiring up this beast. I have an EZ wire generic 21 circuit that I am going to install under the dash.

Also other BIG NEWS, I just ordered new bedsides, a front panel and rear cross sill. That was a chunk of change but I bet it will be well worth it. I hope to have a lot of updates after this weekend.
