Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

Well if I drove a fully loaded FORD with 280,000 miles through it fine 4 times (made the trip a month later again) then a Chevy should do fine!!!! HAHAHAHA :-P
67cheby I cannot recall even though i know I have read it before in your thread, did you build that shroud? Also I am not familiar with bagged suspension as I have always had static drops. What is that bar in front of the rearend that you made a loop for the driveshaft for?

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

here you can see the idea, raising all of the mounts for the raised bed floor, the mounts for the bed are now welded to the riser bars

Mike... I am not sure if I missed this or not... but have you test fitted the engine? Did you have any problems with the oil pan clearing the rack?

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

i like everything gloss but the tubz! have the tubz super smooth gloss black so they act as a mirror to your motor if you are running alot of billet and chrome

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

I think it needs to be gloss on everything since you plan to drive this thing....gloss will clean up so much better than a flat would and semi-gloss to me will make those panels look like they just didn't get polished like the rest of it imho...

Plus, it will smooth everything out more having it all one color and sheen....so that it minimizes the division where things meet and just the engine pops in the center....

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

I think it deserves full body color cut and polished!! i think mixing black into the mix may break it up a little too much. having it all same color will flow good maybe some pinstriping and call it great!!

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

Mike body color to your firewall. or do the firewall and everything around the same. that way your main focal point will be the engine......buttttttt all the hard work on the panels and custom bay stuff would stand out with some color If it was mind id paint the motor with a color to accent the truck and then satin everything else but make sure your motor is spotless. Add a little bit of polished lokar here and there to break it up, use stailess flushmount fastners if needed to clean it up. go to www.tastynuts.com and they make every nut and bolt you can dream of and in any material and finish and color. they are out of the country but very USA friendly...we use them on the race bikes all you will need is your threads and lenght. They make a beautiful washer/tapered bolt kit too plus tons of colors. im using a fin style coil cover and going to paint just the insides body color and polish the rest.
