Small Update ... Not much, truck left for some exhaust work so I can keep plugging away on other customers rides ....

Removed box from frame to repair some rust. Simple fix with just the lip needing attention.

Re: ACC Build: 1950 Chevy

You guys are doing an awesome job? If I may, how did they convert the front over to the dodge 5x5.5 bolt pattern?

Re: ACC Build: 1950 Chevy

I guessed a "nailhead" meant manual-adjust valves, but not so.

Clue me in on what a nailhead is. I've never seen one.

Thx!

Re: ACC Build: 1950 Chevy

Nailheads are called that cause the valves go straight up and down and are small in diameter by comparison to comparable era V8's and the valve stems are long. Hence, the valves look like nails. I'm no expert but supposedly they use a higher lift cam to make up for their smaller size and make great torque for their time.

You can recognize a nailhead by the fact that the valve covers aren't angled but lay flat on TOP of the engine/heads.

Good explanation, Dan.
Yes, I noticed the covers stood straight up.
Thanks,

Chief, Mind if I ask? What brand of tubing bender is that?

I JUST ordered this set today:

Amazon.com: Eastwood Brake Line Tubing Bender and... Amazon.com: Eastwood Brake Line Tubing Bender and...

...and someone posted that they didn't think it would bend a tight enough radius. DOH! It says it'll bend to a 1" radius, I thought that would be plenty tight enough. Any chance yours is the same one?

Awesome quality fabrication work. It shows you pay attention to detals (as I misspelled 'details' in the op) ;-)
