Re: My 69 Find

Well I have been bustin some knuckle getting this thing back together. I'm getting close to the day of driving it.
Installed the new core support and radiator and fabbed a battery tray... Couldn't see spending $50 bucks on a tray. I rewired the lighting for the new tail lights and the 67 clip. Got the tail lights and 67 front end put on and installed the back glass. Put the fuel tank back in. Layed a sheet of plywood in the bed and temporarily bolted it in and put a reciever hitch on. Threw some primer on the roof, fenders - gonna have to do finish work later. A few little things too: Installed a new headlight switch, oil change, new plugs, hoses. Surprisingly- she started right up! Man that's a good feeling... Next is install windsheild and drive it to have the tranny swapped.

Re: My 69 Find

I'm loving the truck, the step-sides blow everything else away in my opinion. That upholstery work looks top-notch too, I'm thinking about putting some bucket seats in my '72 and you will be first on my list. I live in North Charleston and Moncks Corner, I need to post some pics of my work-in-progress and get some tips.

Re: My 69 Find

On to the rust free donor door modifications... I cut a patch off the old door parallel with the existing handle location using an area that matched the curve.
I shaved the handle and filled the 6 (you said that right- SIX) Mirror holes...
