Re: 69 c10 -- first project!!

What's the hold up? Is the new garage heated? It's been pretty cold out lately.

Re: 69 c10 -- first project!!

house reno's. all of the reno stuff, tools and materials is taking up the garage right now. and the ground froze before i could run the power and gasline. so now its waiting till the reno's are done(cpl more weeks) and getting a propane unit to heat the garage. guess the good thing is that i can wait and save money till its work time!! once i get my shop back itll be gettin down to brass tacks time!! haha

Re: 69 c10 -- first project!!

man, dont ever give yourself a timeline to any project haha. this basements taking forever but man is it coming along nicely. aaanyways, figured i'd toss some pics and updates on what ive been doing over the past few months.... as well as some "welcome to edmonton alberta canada" photos of our lovely weather this winter.

first up is the basement reno(everything new totally redone), then the weather, the last one is what the inside of my garage looks like.

Great project, I know how other things can get in the way.
Did I miss something, looks like you were starting on a Ford 9" then I see the 12 bolt hanging off the arms.

Re: 69 c10 -- first project!!

so times have been tough financially lately, so little to no progress has occured over the passed 6mths..... very disheartening.

BUT! a buddy called and asked if i wanted to come help him break in his new welder, and i couldnt pass up the opportunity. so here is my new cab dolly (thanks james). first time welding anything that would be put into actual use, pretty happy. and a shot of the garage we welded in.

Re: 69 c10 -- first project!!

Where on earth did you find such a clean truck in our neck of the woods?

BTW, who is doing the blasting of your cab and such. I am trying to build a local directory for when the time comes that I start a project

haha, found this truck on kijiji. and it looks like its in better shape than it really is in. the cabs a little rough, some patch spots from the previous owner that need attention.

uhh i have not picked a place to blast the cab yet. im seriously debating just doing it myself, a good buddy has a full sandblasting set up i just need to supply the media. and im looking into a few different media options.

Re: 69 c10 -- first project!!

so i tried the coke for removing rust expirement on my dropmember that very unfortunately got some surface rust..... WORKS LIKE A CHARM! haha totally glad i stopped drinkin pop yrs ago. ill put pics up later for some reason my camera wont upload to my comp right now.

and another note, rocky mountain nitro jam nationals were kinda shi**y this year weather wise, although i did see gravedigger drag race a jet truck.... which was freakin sweet. once again pics and vids once i get everything working.

waiting on the city to give me my permit so we can trench and run the gas/power to the garage. shouldnt be long now.

Re: 69 c10 -- first project!!

pics from the rust expirement, and a few from nationals. because it was so wet and muddy, didnt walk the pits or get any good pictures of the race cars. once i figure how to upload a video and share some passes and another cool vid.
