Re: 57 Step Side

Finally got last wire in cab hooked up so the inside wiring is complete, only have head lights and tail lights left.I should of take a before photo of the wiring or should i say the bird nest with the taped splices, the wire felt like old coat hangers.

Yes but the bleeding of the wallet has almost stop, all that is left is a battery to buy!!!!!Originally when i purchased the truck i was only going to change the manual trans to an automatic trans .So in the process of that some how i started the thought process of well if i change that part i should change this part and so on and so on. I did save the entire body some how or else the truck purchased would of been a complete waste of money!!!!

Its coming up on one year since i started removing parts from this truck and i'm planning to start the truck this week.I didn't think it was going to take as long as it did but its been fun to say the least.

Re: 57 Step Side

Hooked up battery charger tonite to test the wiring, well i can report that their was no fire but then again 2 amps wouldn't start a blaze.Dash lights and dome lite work, turned the key and heard the started click.I guess the next step is drop the battery in and add some fuel in the carb and see what happens.

Retro Sound, the radio is actual quite small and the knobs are adjustable to fit your application.

You should have yours done by then i would say,and i still don't have a truck i sort of did this one for my son so we would have something for the local friday nite car shows.Besides i still don't have a 55 or 57 car to cruise around in like some of the people here!! Always wanted a 55 since going to the cars shows theses last few years but the 57 with the side trim has me leaning more towards that model lately.

This is for the both of you I will never admit anything other than the 55 is the true car among the tri5 all others pale in comparison. The 56 is cool but its just a through year. That's why they always say 55- 57.lol GM did not care enough about it to give it its own dash.lol Plus 55 owners are the coolest people in the world.lol

On the real I love tri5's but the 55 is my favorite with the 56 a close second. When I was looking for a tri5, I had to have a 55 or 56. I really wanted a hardtop especially if it was a 56, but I'm happy I found the 55 sedan I would not change it for nothing now (well except for a 55 or 56 Nomad).lol

I'm not really a 57 fan but I've seen some very nice ones and if you happen to find a 57 I guess I will still have to except you as my tri5 brother, but there will always be sibling rivalry.lol

Re: 57 Step Side

Well its alive finally, after resetting the timing and reversing the fuel pump as to pump gas into the carb instead of sucking it out!!! Video sound is off my phone so it doesn't give it justice, but it person it sounds real strong and not to loud.

Very happy it started and runs, first time for doing a complete build and the only thing i was worried about was the wiring.I missed one ground wire on the dash board and dome light it seams but everything thing else works fine.Fan comes on and turns off as it should, the cab has heat now that works.

Re: 57 Step Side

Bed is on and bolted down and gas cap on,gas cap would of been easier to install before the bed was bolted down.
