Re: 1967 C10 "Sinister"

Before, After and the radiator support installed... need to hit the rust in the firewall gutter and a spot on the drivers side now.

Its my first crack at patch panels so... a little body filler is needed to make things smooth... no worries, you cant really see this part too much with the fender on. Thats why I decided to do it first. The picture makes it look crappy but it actually doesnt look too bad - IMHO

That was a good idea with the patch panels. Start with one that does not matter and go forward. Myself I taught as I went. Still learning though. I have finshed my cab. only fine tuning on the body work. keep it up and you will be fine.

I think it looks great man! Someone on here said "it ain't how good you weld, it's how good you grind". Got a flapper wheel for your grinder? Use the rock to knock it down about flush then use the flapper to smooth it all out.

Nice work, it's going to be a cool truck!

Thanks bro. Its getting there and thanks for the tip on the flapper. never heard of those before. Bodywork isnt my thing and learning as I go. I kept burning holes in the thin spots (mainly the corner) but, I think I got the hang of it. Using a lincoln electric mig pak with no gas on the lowest setting. I need to get a better welder with gas though... especially for when I c-notch and box part of the frame. Plus, I just enjoy welding, its peaceful! LOL

Thanks bro... cant afford a shop to do the body work and frankly, I just dont like anyone working on my truck unles its something I just cant do like rebuild a tranny... other than that... Its home built and I am damn proud to say I have done it ALL. The scarry part is gonna be the first time I spray some paint on the body. I like the old worn look that is popular now a days.... makes it easier! HA HA

My son just hit 16 - looking for a B2200 for him so, I will have to manage my time in the garage for 2 trucks again!

Re: 1967 C10 "Sinister"

Well, I have had 20s on the truck then, went back to rallys... I just found a set of 15x8 70's c10 4x4 wheels which look like the old school steel wheels... so, I am gonna powder coat them red and order some 2.5" white walls.... honestly Dino's 66 inspired me. I have always been a "keep it old school" kinda dude and thats been the theme for my truck thus far so... it just makes sense. Getting white walls in hawaii is a PITA tho.... we shall see....

Re: 1967 C10 "Sinister"

Oh my gosh, been looking into white walls the past few days and they are pricey! Can't make up my mind if I want to just go with the same size bias ply all around or do the same size tires I have now but in a 2.75" white wall....

Re: 1967 C10 "Sinister"

UPDATE: Scored some Bonspeed 20's for my black 4x4 rallys and $700! (not bad for a set of rims that are $2700 new LOL) I am still going to set up my steelies in red with white walls but, I couldnt pass these Bonspeeds up... they are IMHO, the best looking billet wheels in a 6 lug! I need to mini tub the back a little more and drop the front but... when I get the bags in, its gonna be sick! The rims are nasty dirty and need to be polished... thats a job for another day.

Enjoy!
