very nice glass work. what is the material you used to form the contour? I have never seen that done before. keep up the good work.

Man that truck is dusty, but the fiberglass work is looking great. I really like the way the shape turned out.

Re: so lets build a truck/my '52 chevy

the base is just matt and resin over green paint tape. Then I use old gas welding rods, basically coat hangers, and mdf to make my shapes then I stretch a thick t-shirt over it. Then I glass that with matt.

I use a tshirt because it is thin enough to not need alot of resin so it wont warp, yet it gets hard enough to hold its shape really well when using the chop mat.

Its like tac'ing all your metal before you weld so nothing pulls and moves.

and yeah lol, the truck is a mess but should clean up quickly. Just need to blow it all off.

well I showed how to make them, so go make some.

there are molded to fit my truck exactly, so they wont fit yours or anyone elses. but the process is the same truck to truck. The kicks are SUPER simple to do, its the console that is a little more difficult.

Re: so lets build a truck/my '52 chevy

been in new york for the past week, but went to work today for a few hours and got some stuff done.

put a filter on my tank vent

started making the cover, holes are for filter and the plug on the tank

cap for the plug hole will be off center of the hole to match up correctly with the filter hole. had to do this since summit cant build a square tank.

drilled holes so resin will have lots to grab to.

cover for emergency brake

glued with resin

using tape i made a pocket to pour resin into to make a cone shape

e brake cover in truck

Re: so lets build a truck/my '52 chevy

awesome

my interior guy is awesome. I couldnt get that headliner very close at all so he said no problem he's going to glue closed cell foam to it and sand it all smooth enough. so should work out nicely. I really appreciate it man. thanks again.

lookin really good cajun, I like your idea of reworking the stock seat frame. It looks like the bottom will have a curve similar to some of the after market seats. thanks for the updates
