What size tires are you running on the rally wheels... I think mine are way to big and there going to rub.

Well the thread says my brides new ride BUTI have been using it as my daily driver. The bride is not very happy about either so to remedy this (you know a happy wife=happy life) I worked a deal with C/10 king http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=637794

Won't gear oil make the wood swell, would use some kind of varnish for wood to protect it. A few coats.

I live on the chesapeake bay in Md, lots of watermen with boats and wood work on them that have to be redone yearly from being out in the elements. I helped my neighbor with his truck wood, he used a epoxy with a clear coat that they
use on the boats it didn't last even a year he had to redo it. If your truck is garage kept you can do a lot with the bed wood that will last and look great but if use your truck and it sits out as I do, I like to keep it simple and honestly diesel fuel works better but I don't like the smell.

I see your point, bet the diesel would work good, I guess sparingly wouldn't smell to bad.

So James, you just spread gear oil on the raw wood and let it soak in, then install?
I hadn't heard of this before but I'm interested since I also use my truck as a truck.

That's what I did, so far so good, it's real easy to retreat when needed

Mine is in a terrible state, but I have a spare to restore.

I think some overlays may come into play when I start working on it.

Once again realised that I really need to find and import the steel strips for the bed wood as my truck has plywood fitted.
I will be making up my own strips, and there will be more than the standard amount of strips, but challenges are good.
