Problems were ride height issue. Red circle is the block intended to mount the cradle to. Which inturn would give me 3" of travel(up), the yellow circle. When I removed the 2" block, I get 1" travel. So it's a c-notch issue. And add some round tubing to the cradle mount to transfer some load. Then if that is not enough, I will plate the bottom side of the upper arm and remove the upper layer plate and that will give me another .75". Also to remove some of the load at the upper cradle mount use poly bushing, with aluminum bushing at the lower cradle mount(solid mounting). With the x-member sharing that load.

We got the problems fixed. Have not c-notched the 2x4 tube on the outside yet, will do that when we flip the frame. The red tube is new, the yellow tubes were planned. The red tube also adds support to the cradle mount plate. First pic is start of day, last 4 are the end of day.

the suspension is set at ride height, pinion angle is set and motor is ready to be mated to frame. This saturday, better hurry up an get thing ready like the core support and radiator......There is a reason the front rearend mounts are not made yet. You will have to stay tuned in! Clue: old school weight transfer/leverage?

Since I have not said it yet! Thank for the encouragement. I have only been thinking of the deadline, 45 days away. AUG 25,1012, this is the date I would like to see it moving under it's own power. Taking it to the El Segundo car show as a rat rod would be a bonus.

Some items showed up, going to the metal shop to look through the scrap pile. 2 pieces 24x14x.25 aluminum should do....

My cradle bushing came along with all the other bushing front and rear. WoW! these things are huge.

WE finished roughing in the 1967-69 camaro radiator. You are going to ask why a camaro rad., because out on the road there is a higher chance of finding one to get me home.

I added some 1.25 L-stock next to the orginal mounting syrface to make room for the new ones.Leaving the original ones so you could use an original radiator if needed. Griffin 8-70009-LS Dominator Series, This is the radiator numbers. As you can see, I did not abstruct the fin area.

Also there are 4 bolt and 1 nut holding it on. The stud for the nut is there to support it while you put the bolts in.

Ever walk out to the garage and go "OH MY GOD". After todays adventure I went in to clean up, Grabbed a slice of pizza and said I would be right back. Then I opened the side door to the garage and...... well you know what happened next.....Guess I have some cleaning to do.

You snuck one in. Paint whats that! Powder coat!
I am going to get it drivable, so I can drive it as is. To work out some bug if any. I would hate to have to add a bracket or some sutch thing after it was powder coated.

Man your project is really coming along. If you don't work your poor ole dad to death, you are going to have it in driving condition in record time (at least the way I build!). From the looks of the wood holding the front of the Camaro rear end in place, I'm assuming you are going to make some sort of cantilevered Air Bag set up to lay the back down like the front. When you got the engine in, is your oil pan going to have to be changed?

PS - I know it wasn't the case with your build, but I've filed away the "Honey the motor broke so I need to do a minor rework" line for a 1972 corvette convertible that I want to update with a LS6/T56 in the future.
