Really like the power steering hoses, they add a high tech race look to everything else in your engine compartment.
Thanks for sharing all your knowledge.

What are the dimentions of the wooden cribbing you made to sit your truck up on? I see they were made with 2x6 and are 12" wide and 12" tall but how long are they?

Re: My 86 build

Man what an awesome build. I love builds where everything is done at home!!

I have a 87 GMC V1500 LWB and you make me wish it was 2wd so I could bag and drop it!! Guess I need to find me one to get low to the ground with.

I just got a 01 silverado ext cab 4x4 swb donor truck to do my LS swap. I am taking everything out of the 01 I can, all the wiring, fuel tank & lines, rear end, radiator, drivetrain, instrument cluster, brake booster, distribution block, steering column.. The works!! I wish I had 1/2 your fabricating skills so I could make it look good! I feel like I gotta represent the 4x4 LWB square bodys.

I even considered swapping the dash from the 01 into my 87.. Not sure about it just yet, I know I will be swapping the front seats and console/jump seat. I'm going to take as much from it as I can and fit it into the 87.

Your thread gets me pumped to do some fabbing!!

Re: My 86 build

thanks man! you could always make it into a 2wd....although good 4x's are hard to find....you'll just have to buy another one and cut it up!.

Yeah its in great shape and has tons of sentimental value, so I plan to leave it as 4x4 just with some LS powa!

Im on the hunt for a crew cab or 3+3 dually to do a drop on with bags, it will be my toy hauler.

extra 150HP... Well it's only a 4.8 haha. I bought what I thought was a 5.3 and turned out to be a 4.8. But they put this 4.8 in a 01 silverado extended cab short bed that weighs about 400lbs more than my truck does so if it made it move then I guess it will make mine move as well.. I think stock 350 tbi for my year came with 190hp 300ft/lbs torque

oh...haha I didn't think the tbi's were that much...any way the 4.8 will still be way better.

I really hope so it runs great. If I could figure out why my trans is in limp mode I would be good.
