"Thanks - I did not rebuild the hinges. The doors seem to very tight before I removed them. Tuckers Classic Auto Parts here in Vegas have been a good source for me on some of the hard to find parts. Ask for Cody or Tom. "
tuckers is a pretty cool spot. deffinatly a good place for parts best thing is the have a lot about an hour or so away near arizona were they have all trucks being parted for sale! from what i know its 60's early 70's but i think they have various ones anybody in vegas area into the 67-72 on a budget diffinatly a place to check out. or to find parts period! nice build by the way and good color choice Last edited by bopper_702; 11-09-2012 at 09:28 AM. |

Re: Started my first frame off - 72 SWB LS1, 6-spd manual
Back to work on the truck finally. I have spent the last couple of weekends hanging the doors, fenders and front grill. I decided not to paint the truck myself because I found a really great painter. He recommended for me to put the front clip together before painting, and I am glad I did. Here are a few pictures before I disassemble for paint. The truck is being painted in pieces.

Thanks... My son and I drooled over your truck in the "Car Crazy" booth @ SEMA. I love your ride!! Cool! The brand is "Key Parts". They fit pretty good. I did have to clean up the threaded holes with a tap. Everything went together good. The door alignment was the most work. I wish I didn't have to pull them back off for paint.

Re: Started my first frame off - 72 SWB LS1, 6-spd manual
Drill a small pilot hole on the door hinges and use them to realign the doors for assembly...
Where did you get the parts. I was thinking of buying new inner fenders... Also, whos doing the paint? |

My painter is a friend that does only custom work. Here are a few pictures of my fuel tank that I am modifying for the fuel injection system. I cut the end off to install a baffle. Also added a filler neck. The tank came out of my buddie's old boat. I couldn't believe the dimensions were perfect to fit in the rear of my frame rails. ![]() Welding the new filler neck. ![]() ![]() ![]()
