Thank you. I hope the cold doesn't keep me from working on it anytime soon.

Re: 1970 SWB - Porterbuilt to the Extreme
I just cut parts to have my gas tank made. I hope to start running some gas lines and brake lines this weekend. If I dont get around to that then I will start some more bodywork.

Thanks Mike. I'm hoping to drive it in the spring. Congrats on the cover. How did the blazer go over in Vegas?

Started bending and running brake lines today. Any suggestions on the frame to caliper connections?

Re: 1970 SWB - Porterbuilt to the Extreme
I picked up my new cab corners and front interior roof panel. Once those pieces are changed I should have pretty much a rust free cab now. I don't know if I ever mentioned this but but rust blows.
My tank should be formed up and welded next week. When I get home today I should have a package from Summit with my sending unit and fuel pump. Then I can finally finish running my fuel lines. It has been colder than all get out lately. So not much work going on at the moment.

Thanks Mike. I was just looking through your build thread to see what trim you used. I was then on Mar-K's website browsing.

Re: 1970 SWB - Porterbuilt to the Extreme
I forgot to mention I spent hours on saturday trying to hide my fuel line inside the notch. That was a *****. If you look at this Nate it would be nice if you welded a 3/8" pipe nipple or bushing into the top portion of the notch for running gas lines through it. That would really help. I am sure not everyone has the same fule line routing, just a thought though.

They can look really clean when they are hidden inside the notches, but it's a lot of work and if you ever have a problem, they are hard to get to! LOL

Re: 1970 SWB - Porterbuilt to the Extreme
Just a little update on no update. WINTER SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!! Even though i have a heated shop it is hard to trek the 20 yards through the snow and below zero temperatures to turn on the furnace to work in there.
I did get my gas tank finally. I will post some pictures of that this weekend. If anyone is interested I can make my CAD models available for the pieces.

Re: 1970 SWB - Porterbuilt to the Extreme
Awesome truck man everything looks great. Did you ever get your brake lines figured out? here is what i did with mine, they will meet at the top of the frame with bulkhead fittings with stainless flex lines to the master. Cant wait to see the gas tank, looks sick!

Re: 1970 SWB - Porterbuilt to the Extreme
Hoping to get back to work during Christmas break. Some new cab corners and a new inner roof panel, that should be fun.

Re: 1970 SWB - Porterbuilt to the Extreme
Here is my gas tank. 26" x 19" x 10" 18ga stainless steel. Two internal baffles and a sump also. I still have to determine where I need to mount my mounting flanges.

This is what I've been working on instead of the truck. Almost done though.
