Nice ride, are you going to paint it grey/silver?

BLT-NT-BOT, that will be one neat truck when you are finished. I really like the paint scheme, the colors go together well.

Now I don't feel as bad seeing what you are starting with. My looks bad, but yours tops the cake. What are your plans for it?

Re: post your 67-72 4x4

Thanks!

My truck is a 1968 k20 with all original drivetrain, hd leaf springs all around, no lift, manual steering, brakes, etc. It has a factory Muncie 4 speed on the floor with the optional 327 and Rockwell 4 bbl and the optional side mount spare. I have tried to keep everything as original as possible with the exception of the fuel tank which was removed from the cab and replaced with an aluminum fuel cell installed under the bed behind the rear axle. I also replaced the lap belts with GM shoulder belts which were optional on the truck from the factory, and replaced the old step bumper with the chrome one in the photos.

I have NOS 8.25 x 16.5 8 lug steel wheels (which were a factory option in 1968 for the camper specials) with 33 x 12.5 by 16.5 BFG All Terrain's. The truck runs great, had it out today.

Out but not dead, can I see a pic of your shoulder belts? I have been dying to find a set of bright blue shoulder belts for years. Trevor

How do you find it to drive with hd leafs and do you have any pics of where you installed filler neck for new gas tank?

WOW...I thought having one "keeper" was special...obviously the bar is a lot higher than I thought...those are incredibly nice...I cant imagine how much work lies behind those pics...

I am sure in the future I will be asking for some advice on bringing mine back to the best I can...I am really lucky o have found one out west with zero rust...and mechanically so sound...

thanks for sharing those pics...lots of inspiration...ted

Re: post your 67-72 4x4

Thanks for the kind words guys! It's a blast to drive. Top speed is about 45-50 mph. I'd love to lift her a few inches. Any thoughts? Power steering/brakes might be nice too!

This is my '72 GMC. It took me 3 years to buy this truck from my cousin but it was worth the wait.

Still needs tons of work but it is making progress.

I'm hoping to have it on the road again by the end of the summer.

It's got a 350 with factory a/c and factory bucket seats. It was restored about 15 years ago to as close to original as possible. I'm going to upgrade to electronic ignition and a few other things but it's just too nice to "mess" with too much. It also has the wooden floor in the bed. Never thought I would own one like it. Dreams do come true.
