LOL. Everytime i go to the garage and uncover the car, hes bye my side. Looking up at me like " well, lets take it for a drive. " Hes not real keen on the C20, because of the very loud exhaust. I hopefully will be toning them down soon.

Re: Not a truck but want to share

well... i DO NOT remember working on this car. BUT 2 of my dads friend's and former co workers, the son of the dealership owner. and the dealersip owner now in his 80s. have confirmed that YES my dad did paint this car in the early 80s. Dad passed away 2 years ago yesterday. my Daughter and 2 of my sisters are "gently prodding" me to buy this. my wife said dont call him yet i will.... so i called today the car was traded in as a one owner in 1978. it was painted by dad in the 80s. and parked on the dealership floor until about 10 years ago when it was moved to a shed on the property. he claims it has only been driven about 80 miles since 1978 his price is a bit high but i made him an offer. he said he was going to talk to his boys and get back to me. i am kind of excited ZERO RUST a spot of peeling paint. on the top of the left quarter. i am SURE the exposed primer is lacquer and the color is likely Centari or Martin Senior acrylic enamel.

Re: Not a truck but want to share

Good luck. I hope it goes through and you bring it home. Back in that time Martin Senour acrylic enamel was what I shot my stuff with. I did do a few with Nitram, remember that? It was their version of Imron. I never realized it till a rep told me that the name comes from spelling Martin backwards. Ingenious!

Re: Not a truck but want to share

I never sprayed Martin Senior. But Dad taught me how to spray cetari. Clean shiney smooth and adjust the color match by air pressure. I am mentally justifying how to pay more... writing this as I sit looking at it. This truck used to be used by Dave Marcis.

Fathers day cruise and show tomorrow. Washed the truck distributor got wet. Now I wait for it to dry.

Spray some WD-40 on it. That will help dry it out....

thank you. i believe i can fix that paint. started yesterday. does anyone know if i can fit 235/70/15 tires under the rear? i have a pair NEW. and a pair of 215/70/15 i will likely put the original wheels in the rafters and get these either bare painted by me to match car? or pre painted black.. opinions are welcome
i have the chrome reverse/smoothies on my truck.

Re: Not a truck but want to share

Congratulations on prevailing as the new owner. Yes, persistence paid off. But it didn't hurt that you were connected to the car through your father's work as well as you working for the same business, which I'm sure was a positive experience for them!

my opinion is paint same as original for the take a second look appearance, the same but not the same. And since I'm the first to give his opinion let's just go with that

The rear License plate ( America's Dairyland ) is from the year in the 50ies also the first letter signifies the month ,,I forget which letter means each month ...to make up for to many plates needed for a single letter for the month..they just doubled the Letter .. the front one is also a neat USA-1 plate to ..keep em ,,they are both conversational about the car

I wish my state would allow the use of that plate...
In the trunk I found a piece of sand paper, folded just how dad did it.. and posters made for when the dealership owner Larry Wehrs was parade marshal in 1996. I may keep those too.
