How did you come up with your User Name?
Some people have it simple with. Just their name
Others have a complex set of numbers and letters And Bussiness names are used too When you are on a forum like this, you might form a picture in your mind of someone, by their name or posts. A phenomenon of social media, and no face to face contact. Also the fact that we post pictures of our trucks and not ourselves. Which, much of the time will expose your what decade you were born in! How did you come up with your name? I'll start Have you been to Disneyland? I only went here once as a kid. In 1972 But when I had kids I took them multiple times. The best place on earth. They knew how to clean out your wallet, but you still left the place smiling. My grandfather always drove chevy trucks Driving in his red and white one as a kid that dash impressed me To this day I think it is the one of best interior designs ever As the years piled on, trucks started accumulating at my house At some point I googled chevy truck on the web, and this place popped up When I wanted to see more info on here, they made me sign up Hence, CHEVYLAND |

Re: How did you come up with your User Name?
The first part of my name came when I was in highschool..I was involved in several fights ..although I never started them i always ended them with one punch..this was a few years after the movie blazing saddles came out.."mongo" knocked out the horse with one punch..that names been with me ever since..but its a name thats always taken..years ago when I got my pilots liscence I just added "can fly" to the end of it...
So...mongocanfly.. And yes I did hit a horse once...sonofagun bit the fire outta me..he bit me on the shoulder blade and nearly picked me up off the ground..I had horseteeth marks in my skin for months.. |

Re: How did you come up with your User Name?
I like the Chevyland name. It's a really good one. We have a Maryland suburb of Washington, DC called Chevy Chase and there is (was) a Chevy dealership on a street corner called Chevy Chase Chevyland. It sat diagonally and had showcase windows on the upper levels with the great '60s cars displayed. The coolest thing was the sign under the showcase windows that said Chevyland to look like the Disneyland logo. What's not to love by a boy with a love of cars, Walt Disney shows and movies, and visions of the greatest amusement park in the world? I tried to find an old picture of how I recall it, but this is the best I could find:
I remember trees everywhere. Not sure if the windows were remodeled out by '89, if this is a rendering for that change, or my memory has a slant to it because the place was larger than life to a boy who's eyes filled with stars by cars. I had nine 67-72 GM trucks when I joined here. My favorite one was a well optioned '72 K/20 Cheyenne Super Custom Camper. I used to call it "Super-K". I stumbled onto this place through links on The Filling Station, Vintage Chevy Trucks, and other parts supply websites. I lurked, then joined to give info when I saw a lot of supposing and guessing on some topic I knew well. I joined with Super-K and posted here and there a bit. In '04 we finally got cable run down my road and switched to hi-speed internet. My e-mail changed, I knew nearly nothing about computer use, couldn't log-in, and just to get on I came up with "Special-K" just to get on. I always pictured that logo, and I also had two other special '72s, a K/20 Highlander Custom Camper, and the Sierra Custom Camper I still have. It's a "what the heck" name I never cared that much for but I'm stuck with it over 12 years later.

Re: How did you come up with your User Name?
When I was in high school myself and a good friend were big into the CB craze, this was late 60's, (graduated in '67). After a 3 year stint in the military when I returned from Viet Nam (April 70) I bought my one and only F**d product, a '69 Mustang Mach 1. The CB thing was still going on and I mounted a CB unit in the Mustang and using the CB "handle" became "Ironhorse Mobile". Advance many years, Mach 1 was gone which now I regret and I was into Chevy trucks. Found this site, lurked for awhile and finally decided to join. Kept trying user ID's which all seemed to be taken and dropped back to try just "Ironhorse" as a user ID. Seems to fit as pickups to an extent replaced the horse as an everyday mode of travel for a lot of guys, myself included. Haven't actually been on a horse for a good many years but the Ironhorse still seems to fit as I am into trucks now over horses.

Same here, essentially. My name's Corey A. Hewitt and my automated university e-mail handle has always been hewittca, so unimaginative me stuck with hewittca as my username for any subsequent sites I joined.

Re: How did you come up with your User Name?
Well, I'm not very fast, but I sure am slow.
We all know that high RPM is a killer. I firmly believe that if I keep my personal RPM down I'll last longer. It seems to be working pretty well so far as my 75th is next. Between my low RPM and my self professed mediocrity nobody expects a lot keeping the pressure down and all my gaskets in place. Just idling along as I do, there's seldom any serious heat developed so breaking a serious sweat isn't an issue either .... Win win win! Some would counter my rationale with the old saying that "the early bird gets the worm", but my response to them is "the second mouse gets the cheese."

Re: How did you come up with your User Name?
Special-K I just thought you liked the cereal! BTW, I have serious "post envy".
Cant wait till I hit 60,000! Mine is my initials. Named after my uncles Bobby & Wayne. As a kid my Dad called me BW so as not to confuse people. Now I use it to help weed out sales calls. No one calls me that anymore but when I fill out certain forms or talk to sales people I give em that name so if someone calls asking for BW I know what it is! |

LockDoc came from the fact that I have been a locksmith since 1977. For the last 20 years or so I have specialized in doing lock work on antique autos & motorcycles. I don't just make keys, I also disassemble locks to repair and/or re-key them, hence the Doc part. Doctor of locks so to speak...... I have close to a thousand new and used automotive locks, & key blanks, from 1928 - 1968. LockDoc

Re: How did you come up with your User Name?
My user name is the name I gave my camaro way back when I was in the middle of the rebuild in 92-93.
99% of the work was done after hours and midnight was supposed to be my quittin time so I at least got a few hours of shut eye sometimes. It's also fitting because my car was already painted a midnight metallic blue by rusty jones in '86 (it's actually a '82 pontiac color)when I got it i loved the color so that's what I stuck with...coincidently my sporty is also the same color. Funny thing is that practically everyone who knows me since grade school calls me by my nick name (dinger) but I chose not too use it at all on here cause it's not appropriate. Also I didn't use that name just so I know who I have met through this site and those who know me in my own world. A few years ago at work we were joking around with our small group of guys and giving each other "fitting" girls names. Nobody could come up with a good girls name for me. It took me a bit but I came up with my own. My initials are K D We'll duh' So instead of writing my initials anymore, I started signing off on stuff as Kaydee on all the paper work that I had too sign off on. It took everyone a bit too figure it was me since some girl suddenly started completing my paper work. There was a old thread like this one. And another thread that we googled our handles too see what popped up. Mine came up as a cool song by Gary moore.https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...VNl5uz-QFiCTEA

Re: How did you come up with your User Name?
My user name is an omage to my nova. I have a 1971 nova and it will never have enough power. This is the 3rd rebuild I am doing now. Mini tub, roll cage, racing seats, currie 9" with spool and 456's.
going in is a 350 balanced to 8000 with a vortech v1 and 2 stage progressive nos kit. Should be around 800 rear without spraying. Plan for the car this time around is build it so i only ever have to swap a motor and trans and everything else will be good. |

Re: How did you come up with your User Name?
Mine is a nickname given to me by a friend and hockey buddy years ago, who has since passed away unfortunately.
It was predicated on a Vancouver Canucks player around in the 80's...and is simply a version based on my name. Coley

Re: How did you come up with your User Name?
Mine is my user name on pretty much anything I've signed up for since I got online. Growing up we had a power line easement behind our house that through the years different groups of kids had built BMX jumps on. The power company came through and brush hogged it like they do every few years and the next group of kids came and found it and started building. I was in 8th grade and the cooler older kids showed up and took me under their wing. Made a lot of really close friends behind the house, we kept it going for the better part of 15-16 years. The power company came though probaly 5 years ago and had to plow it all because they were getting ready to build and replace the towers to help with clearance of the beltway widening project a few miles away, they guys were cool and gave us a week to throw one last trail jam/bbq and a lot of the older guys showed up as well as what was the current "caretakers" of the trails. We had named it biketopia probably back in 01-02 and the name stuck. A lot of good memories back there, other than watching my brother break his jaw, and the numerous broken bike parts we had.
