Question SM 465 dust shield

Where can I find a dust cover for my SM 465. I have looked all over, and all I can find are flex plate covers for the TH auto. Help!!!!!!

Re: SM 465 dust shield

Is anyone running with the shield? Any ideas? Does someone know where to buy new/used?

Re: SM 465 dust shield

There are two pieces to the shielding covers. Do you have the piece that fits between the starter and bell housing?

The main cover should be available used. Have you posted a WTB?

Re: SM 465 dust shield

They are getting hard to find. Most junkyards just dump the tranny on the ground, crushing the cover, after they pull it. When I rebuilt my 292 and 465 a few years ago, my buddy had to braze on some washers to repair the worn out bolt holes, especially on the smaller front piece.

Re: SM 465 dust shield

I didn't know that they were that hard to find... here's a pic of mine if that helps anything... These are the covers (minus bellhousing) that you are talking about right?
