Bear has nice taste

Apparently this bear in Kings Beach Tahoe was trying out some vehicles the other day, and chose this one.

Re: Bear has nice taste

I once owned a '71 Camaro RS, same gorgeous body style as that one. Never had any bears inside mine, though.
I'd hate to see what the interior of that one looks like now -- and I'd hate to be the person who cleans that interior.

I had a similar Camaro (Not nearly as nice) But that photo reminds me of some of the dates that I took out in mine.

Re: Bear has nice taste

I think that is the same bear that walked into Kings Beach Safeway and grabbed a bag of chips and the local gas mart and helped himself to candy bars. The employee tried to get it out of store and bear growled and lunged at him. There is a great video on FB. I can’t upload video Name: 66E430DB-C536-4090-BABC-43AF0B97B6A3.jpg

Re: Bear has nice taste

About 30 yrs ago I was running this little gift shop and some cabins for the summer. The bears started getting into the garbage so I put it into an old carriage shed. The bear tore the door off the shed so I put it back together and parked my old 65 C/10 up against the outside of the doors. A couple mornings later I found claw marks all over the hood where the bear had stood up on its hind legs and tried to tear the door open from the top edge.

But those old pickups were pretty tough. It just added some more character.

Re: Bear has nice taste

Couple years ago I picked up my "other mother" from South Lake Tahoe, she was visiting from Germany. So my real mother and I get out of the car and walk up the driveway, I notice an apple tree, thinking about grabbing one. Looked to my left and mamma bear and I locked eyes, no more than a foot from me. She was behind a bush and had stood up, and her cub was in the apple tree. She looked like a statue. If any expression at all she just wasn't that impressed by me.

So I do a 180 like nothing had happened, spinning my mother RIP along with me. I say "let's go back to the car, bear". She says, "why are we going back to the car?"..."Bear"....She say's what? "Bear".

Eventually the bears were quite comfortable. My mom has a video of it, I'd post it but it's embarrassing. The bears were playing and my mother's yelling "get back in the car, you're making her mad" Me "she looks so angry"

OK. If I came up on it without a firearm, and had a bat, maybe I could take it to a ball game!

Re: Bear has nice taste

So bears prefer the early camaro body style. I often wondered about that.

The bear is shouting at the driver of the Ford pickup to get out of the way.

Maybe the owner should be shot for being the fool who owns such a nice car leaving the windows down when obviously in bear country. I bet he rolls them up in the city and thinks about where he parks it down there. I've known people to have a cat climb in their car in their driveway and pee. Not good.

I think this bear has cool taste. Great example of an El Camino bought to use as a light truck

Nice Elco! I bet that the bear smells a pic-a-nic basket in the back of the truck.

The larger Tahoe bears aren’t stopped by locked doors and rolled up windows. They just bust them out and if the glass has a metal frame they just bend the frame like a pretzel. They also open unlocked house and car doors with their teeth. Only thing that keeps them out is no food in the car. Vacation houses have electric door mats and wires across their windows.

Re: Bear has nice taste

Oh, I know the bears need a reason to want to get into a vehicle. I didn't touch on that detail I am sure that city slicker failed to respect.

Bears can also be very helpful to motorists stranded in the wilds with vehicle issues
