Fesler Flush Mount D.O.T. Glass Kit?

Has anyone used this set? Got pics? Looks nice and the current price is attractive. I really want flush mounted glass but others I've seen look more like surface mount or have huge gaps.

http://www.shopfesler.com/flush-moun...ck-kit/#tabs-1

Thanks,

Boudy

Why flush mount? Is it for a show vehicle, or one that's going to be driven? If it's going to be driven, the windshield is eventually going to break, and then you're stuck with only one supplier (assuming they're still in business when it breaks) and paying whatever they are charging at the time.

Well because it's so darned cool! But for a heavy driver, you make a good point. I keep running up against this very dilemma. Go nuts or stay practical, lol. Thanks.

Just my opinion but I would rather rock the stock glass and trim for 200.00. I can think of better things to spend a grand on lol.

Re: Fesler Flush Mount D.O.T. Glass Kit?

I've been researching flush mounted glass also, and this seems to be the one "kit" that doesn't require extra metal work.

FYI - the price does include both the front and back window. The front is $799 by itself and One Piece Products has their own back window kit for $245. From what I gather OPP is working on a windshield, but it's not yet available.

I've seen a few flush mount windshields in person, but I'm not sure if any were from Fesler.

Re: Fesler Flush Mount D.O.T. Glass Kit?

Nice find, I have been wanting this but again I will wait based on the pricing at least for now. I have not been able to find any others making such a product. I wonder to make if flush what spacers or what else might be required. Their photos seem to show something keeping the windshield out.

Question Re: Fesler Flush Mount D.O.T. Glass Kit?

I love the look and like the fact you don't have to modify the metal around the window but the price and shipping it just doesn't meet my wants as bad as I want it to.

I wonder if they have any kind of warranty with it? They only mention about before you pick it up. They say have a glass company install it also.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

It's a urethane-set windshield, so it would be glued to the pinchweld with 3/8 inch spacing.

Re: Fesler Flush Mount D.O.T. Glass Kit?

Agreed, OPP has a rear but no front at this time. In viewing the front they offer for others, it looks more like a surface mount, really bad. I'm going to paint probably in Feb so I'll likely just run stock glasses and upgrade at a later date if I'm still pining once it's on the road.

I had a guy at Good Guys quote me $1,500 so I thought $1,100 sounded fair. I guess compared to stock it's a bit up there.

Re: Fesler Flush Mount D.O.T. Glass Kit?

Im going to try it, my truck is at a paint shop and the glass is on order, should be done around the end of january. maybe if this is still out there ill post some pictures. For 1200 it comes with the front and rear and to me its not that bad. I had a rock crack my windshield earlier this year right after i bought my new toyota and factory glass for the 16' toyota was $1050, not installed, new cars have the rain sensing cutouts and lane departure cutouts. granted it didnt cost me that (went through insurance) but thats what the actual cost of the glass was. i saw two trucks at the good guys swap meet with it, it wasn't bad. they both had shaved drip rails as well.

here is the one i saw at good guys, not my video ( Facebook if you have it)

Re: Fesler Flush Mount D.O.T. Glass Kit?

Thats great 69rdmo keep us posted I am betting it is a nice product.
Now that video. That truck looks like the top was chopped and the windshield was laid back some. Maybe it was all the other fab work but it looks different so it would be a different windshield if that is the case. This one is to be a direct fit.
We will watch for updates.

Re: Fesler Flush Mount D.O.T. Glass Kit?

I'd love it but the availability of the glass later down the road would bother me. Plus the extra cost kind of hurts. I drove my truck for 2 weeks and got my first bulls eye on the windshield. That would really suck on a $800 windshield plus shipping again.

I don't think without re enforcing the cab, this is a good idea..
one good bump in the road and you'll have a nice crack 3-4" up from the bottom the length of the window.. just like every unit body car that rust has weaked the floors/rockers,, and stresses the window..

Re: Fesler Flush Mount D.O.T. Glass Kit?

Hey guys, so yeah my truck isn't finished because the glass was on back order. Glass came in last Wednesday after 2 months or so. The glass is just sitting in there, for mock up. The groove in the pillar will go away and will be flush with the glass. I will not be shaving my drip rail. Maybe in a month I might have a final picture (with paint)

Very nice I like it and think it will be a good change
When you say the grove will be gone are you going to shave it as well or what?

Come on, you shaved the cowl and have flush mounted glass, and you're not shaving your drip rail? Lol.

Re: Fesler Flush Mount D.O.T. Glass Kit?

And a follow-up...
How did it fit on your truck. It looks great now but was wondering if the shop had to do any modifications to get the fitment correct?
And are you going with their rear back glass as well? I know they offer both.
Thanks
Dave

Hey Dave, the windshield looked pretty good, there was one or two spots they will have to work, and I did go with the rear glass, and they said the rear fit perfect.

And derot, I really did want to shave my drip rail, but I thought about it and the wife thought that if we left the drip rail it would still keep some of the classic look to it, so we decided against it.
