Trouble posting thanks to "Ads by" pop-up

This is frustrating as heck. I can barely post, and really, it won't even let me write. I have to copy and paste.

There's a pop-up on every page. The bastard reads "Ads by" in the RH corner. It just sits there spinning around the play button, but doesn't do (*^( but raise blood pressure. I can close it, but the little f*U))(r shows up with near every refresh. I have my pop-up blocker on and set to high...........Did nothing. Anyone else experiencing this?

Maybe I need to delete temp. files, see if that helps.

Much of the info. applies to all 67-72 GM trucks, and to a lessor degree all 67-72 GM vehicles. My build thread, and more on the guide https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...d.php?t=730025

No problem here. Sounds like you might have some malware on your machine....

Re: Trouble posting thanks to "Ads by" pop-up

Cleared browsing and/or maybe the new pop-up setting just took effect. So far so good.

Been seeing it here also. Really screws things up. Let me know if you get rid of it.

Re: Trouble posting thanks to "Ads by" pop-up

I use Google Chrome with their ABP ad blocker extension and I don't see any ads...anywhere (maybe I shouldn't reveal that for those sponsors that pay to advertise). Anyway, it works pretty well.

Mine is a desktop. I still see the ads in the top portion of the page, but the culprit is gone.

Likewise, actually I don't think I even have an ad blocker extension installed but I don't get any pop ups since I switched a few years ago to chrome.

BINGO......I just added it and even the much less annoying ads are gone. Thanks for the tips.

I could use an add blocker. I use a laptop, I don't even want a smartphone.

Mine is a desktop also and it went away after this was posted a few days ago... Until this morning it is back again. What is involved with switching to chrome?

Google "Chrome", download, install, open. It will ask you if you want to import bookmarks from your current browser.

However, for the record, although I sometimes use Chrome, I primarily use Firefox. It uses less resources on the computer so it's faster, and doesn't have Chrome's built-in Google analytics (spyware). Everything you want to do with Chrome you can do with Firefox.

Your problem may not be your browser, though. You may have malware that you inadvertently downloaded, especially if you downloaded some software and installed it as a package. Even "reputable" companies like Adobe package third-party applications with their downloads (for profit) and you have to opt out of the third-party application during installation; if not, they'll install software like "browser helper objects" which don't really help your browser but give it instructions to do things you didn't tell it to do (like open ads in pop-up windows).

I recommend you download and run Malwarebytes' free scan tool (https://www.malwarebytes.com/) and run a scan. It will show you what's running on your computer that you may not know about. Just make sure you opt out of the premium version when you install it, and it's totally free and secure.
