I'm really OLD! though,.. I gotta hurry up and get it running so I can drive it before I die! Also the economic crisis has me a little concerned and I want to get it at least driveable while I still have income.

The other extreme is Chip Fooses shop will do a complete frame off custom truck like mine, but way better, and do it in ONE WEEK!! I watched his show once and got pissed off, and discouraged, I don't want to see it again, at least not for a while.

And yes Blake I will certainly use those fenders!

Ran fuel system, brake system, 2 guage battery cable to starter, trans cooler hoses, and started on Painless harness.

Got a few little obstacles left, need oil pressure plug for late model engine, and a new style oil pressure guage, mine was one of the copper tubing ones.
Need water temp plug pigtail and one for alternator.
I'm getting there, as they say, just keep puttin one foot in front of the other, you'll get there.

Re: New member new Project

A heads up for you LS engine swap guys...found out today that I should have removed plug from rear passenger side of the head and drilled and tapped it to accept the thermostat for the electric fan relay, before I tucked the engine in tight against the firewall. I had to "jerry rig" it into the heater hose by the water pump until the next time I have the engine out. Anybody know the best place to hook up the wire from the relay that is labeled ign or fan switch? This wire has also been called the activator for the relay.

Re: New member new Project

That wire for the relay, should be any HOT WIRE once the ignition is turned on, or you could be meaning the wire that rurns the relay on to activate the fans, this one should go to your block fan switch. UMM, what is it called, the thermostat. Either way the truck is really coming along great, keep it up!!!!!!!!

Looking good! Any way I can get a better pic of where you cut the inside of the cab for the trailing arm crossmember? Keep up the progress!
