I bought a CST (67-8)horn button from a guy on here and he didnt mention the tabs were all broke off and I didnt know better because I never had one before. Point now is how do I correct this? Is a replacement available(plastic)? Also not sure of the "cup" this is supposed to lock into? I have a standard button and cup now.

There are no aftermarket replacements. You can cut the back off of a 69-72 standard horn button and cut the back of your cst button (plastic ring) and glue the 69-72 portion on and it can function correctly.

Not sure about the cup it goes into, there are two different sizes out there, maybe someone else knows about that.

There are two different metal cups for the horn assembly. The '67 and '68 cup is 1" tall and the '69-'72 is 3/4" tall.

When you glue the 69/72 ring to the 67/68 cap I believe you retain the 67/68 cup.

Nice pic Leon...I think I snapped that one about 6 years ago, before that washer quit working

I've had it so long I couldn't remember where I got it. It took me a while to find it on my computer. I went out to take a picture of two of mine but I couldn't find the '67/'68 cup without digging...

I'm confused. My '67 and '68 horn buttons are metal with a black rubber collar bonded onto them. The rubber collar is indexed so the horn button stays in right alignment. Its lips snap inside the tin cup. [Never saw plastic or nylon.] Last I checked the rubber collar was available from Truck and Car Shops in Orange, Ca. for under $10.

OP has a cst button, yours is standard. They mount differently.

OK. There is a difference between the horn cap from my '67 K/10 Suburban and my '68 C/10 Stepside. The backs mount the same, but the cap off the '67 is chromed. The '68 's cap is pot metal painted Argent Silver. Since the '67 is down, I've cannibalized the nice one for the '68 which is a runner. When you snap the chrome cap with a fingernail, it goes ''TING''. Hit the painted one the same way and it goes ''thuk''.
The Stepside was a fleet truck. Manual everything. I thought the '67 's cap was Custom. I have seen the ones with the checkered ring on the face, but I thought they were from the automobile side.

That style only came on custom and cst trim levels in 1967.
