Wow, I sure wish Chevy had that as a factory option and that my truck had it.

Re: 1969 GMC Extended cab P/U

Is it a complete restoration, inside, outside, and underneath? Does it have a an overdrive transmission? In my world these things would be an important part of the equation for a modified truck at this price point. If these are yes answers and you like the look and feel of the truck, buy it and who cares what the rest of the world thinks.

I applaud the effort, but I have yet to see an extended cab window that looked like it belonged. The closest is that blue and white 4X4 dually.

Yeah, not my thing. Just thought I would show you.
Here's some more pics. Full custom, $ 40,000.00 build in Sask. They took a stock long box, shortened the box, extended the cab, 350 auto, mild cam, ps, pb, stereo, dual fuel tanks

That is what I was thinking, that window looks like like it came out of a motor home!

The windows appear to come from an extended cab later model. I looked at those but the curvature was too much for the body lines. I own the blue and white diesel dually and I hate the rear windows! We are searching for a good replacement now!

Re: 1969 GMC Extended cab P/U

I don't know if it would help much, but it seems like it'd look more natural if the drip rail extended back over the additional window, rather than down the back of the driver's door as per normal.

Then just flat glass with rounded corners and white trim (or whatever the cab is) should be close, or at least closer than a lot of what we see...

Re: 1969 GMC Extended cab P/U

When I built mine, I used the small window & frame from a chevy van with the 60/40 swing out side doors. I will try to post a pic tomorrow. I extended the WB 22" (149")

I don't think the later body side molding looks good on that. It would look a lot better without it, in my opinion.

It looks like they welded the back half of a '95 PickUp cab on - and exactly that is the problem.

Re: 1969 GMC Extended cab P/U

I really like this truck. How long is the bed?

What I don't like are minor things: auto transmission, big wheels, etc. I do like that split bench seat.

Can anyone tell me what year and make that bench seat is?

The drip rail is definitely getting extended out. I already have the donor parts. Yes, I have looked at some flat glass that more resembles the front windows. Anyone with images of glass ideas please forward

My 1993 Silverado has that same seat in that color and pattern.

Re: 1969 GMC Extended cab P/U

It doesn't look that bad. The rear window must be changed and I agree on extending the drip rails. Also unless it has a hydro boost I don't see power brakes? In USD it comse to $18766.66, but there probably be some import tax which would bring that back up.

Re: 1969 GMC Extended cab P/U

Not the best picture, this is my 72 I built in 1996. I would do a few things differently (like the color) but overall I am happy with it. I don't drive it a lot anymore. I do not have a build thread

Re: 1969 GMC Extended cab P/U

Having seen the rest of the pictures its no, not at that price. The wiring is a mess and that big stupid bracket for the under hood light are definitely clues as to the quality of the trucks construction. And for an overall opinion on this kind of modification for it to look right in my eyes it needs to have Suburban style square doors.

Re: 1969 GMC Extended cab P/U

Here's my two cents.
Finding the suitable window is the hard part, and there are some that look a lot better than others.
For me, the feature that throws things off is that the drip rail doesn't extend over both the door and rear window.
Has anyone with the talent to do this considered putting the drip rail all the way back?
I wish I had half the talent needed to extend a cab or shorten a LWB, so please dont take this as criticism.
