Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

Picked up this 78 Thursday. Needs some love but has a rebuilt engine and trans. Unfortunately, he rebuilt the factory 305 so that wont stay long. Ordered my spindles, springs, flip kit, yesterday. Trying to decide on what wheels I want now!

New to the site but have looked at it for years. I had been trying to buy this truck for six years off my brother inlaw he let it set untouched for six years before he sold it to me. Yes I had to see it everytime I went to my inlaws wasting away. I have always wanted a square body shortwide. I got it running and have driven it as a daily driver for the last month just to see what I had runs great and drives great. Now its time to lower it, paint it, and a set of rims. When I went to haul it home my 3 year old son said "my truck" so I guess he thinks he is getting it at 16. I have an addiction and it chevy trucks to bad my wife doesn't have the same addiction

That truck looks a lot like the 77 I bought, fixed up, and sold not too long ago. Sounds like it will be a fun project.

Thanks! It's the One Piece Products kit. It fits pretty good, need to do a little fine tuning. Otherwise it's a good kit. Not perfect (at least yet) which some made find a problem based on the price. I don't, as the truck wasn't made for it, so it won't be perfect. Then again, I got mine 2yrs ago and it just sat in the garage until recently installed it so the kit might be updated.
