47-54 cab corner speaker brackets

NEW PRODUCT! For those who have, or are about to, relocate the in-cab gas tank on your 47-54 (55) GM truck, I now offer these cab corner speaker brackets. Made of heavy 16 ga steel and laser cut, these are high quality brackets engineered to fit nice and snug into the corners of the cab. These come in two versions, one with pre-cut 6x9 openings, the other blank...allowing you to use the speaker(s) of your choice. Brackets come with detailed instructions and mounting hardware. Price per pair is $85 shipped to anywhere in the lower 48 states, my PayPal is jdrew@73-87.com

If you have any questions or concerns, please visit the links in my signature and review the feedback on the 73-87 and 67-72 brackets I also sell. I take great pride in the products and services I offer, and put a lot of work in these to ensure you are satisfied.

As of 10/8 I have very limited quantities...7 pair with the 6x9 opening, 3 pair blank.

Re: 47-54 cab corner speaker brackets

Here is a picture of a blank one mocked up in forum member Torchlight's truck. As you can see, these fit tight to the B-pillar and rear cab wall. Because he has not picked his speakers out yet, he opted for a blank pair...and until the hole is cut for the speaker opening, the shop mounted the floor bracket to the front side due to lack of access to the rear (where these are designed to mount)

Re: 47-54 cab corner speaker brackets

Some very minimal trimming to the lower portion of the cab, just behind the B-pillar/above the seat riser is required to get these snug up against it the B-pillar. Additionally, the brackets are cut to follow the curve of the rear cab wall...there may be some very minor shaving of the brackets required due to variances from truck to truck and how this panel fared over the years.

Re: 47-54 cab corner speaker brackets

Last picture, showing both sides installed in my friends '52. Brackets will clear the stock bench, and should work with all seats similar in size. The inner bends of the brackets are also further out from the rear cab wall and the vertical supports, so one could easily run a filler panel from bracket to bracket, finishing off the rear cab wall nicely.

Re: 47-54 cab corner speaker brackets

I just recived a set of these speaker brackets for my 49 AD. I was really impressed by the level of craftmanship and detail in them, they are simply not just a bent up piece of sheet metal. They have detailed cutouts and curves that hug the body of the truck. I've only test fitted them for now but they look like they will install really well.

Thanks for the feedback...this is what keeps me offering these parts. Please post installed pics when you get to that point, and send any feedback you might have, so I can make adjustments if needed.

You are in luck...finally picked up a 58/59 GMC parts cab this weekend. In the process of stripping it down and cleaning it now so I can start the design (and sell some of the parts hopefully). As I get closer, I will post an update in a new thread. Thanks for your interest.

I hope you start making them to fit the 60-66 pickups. I would be buying a couple pairs and I'm sure there would be many others. Ron

Re: 47-54 cab corner speaker brackets

Drew,
I was just wondering if you are still making rear speaker brackets for 1947-1954, I have a 53 and looking for a set with cutouts, I saw your post last year in April 9th 2016, but I wasn't ready to install my stereo system until now. Hopefully you still are.
Thanks Danny

Are you still selling stereo brackets for 47-54, and if so what is the current price with shipping if needed? Thanks Daniel Coker
