Hood bolt question

Is the hood bolt (bolt on hood that snaps into hood latch) the same for 69-72? I have 70 hood trying to put on 72 truck and having a few issues getting hood bolt to go all the way down into hood latch. Seems to latch, but hood still has a good ways still to go down before it's even with fenders.

Are you sure it is latched or just on the safety catch. The bolt is adjustable and I'm betting that it needs to be adjusted down a little bit more to get it to fully seat into the latch.

Re: Hood bolt question

I used a coat of white grease on the bolt. Then I closed the hood to verify that it latched al the way. I adjusted the bolt to pull the hood even with the fenders.

Tried adjusting hood bolt, hard to get it to turn. May just order new bolt and plate that it screws into and work with something new and not so rusty. Hopefully that will help with getting the hood to align/close correcting.
