Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.

wheels need to be tucked up in the wheel wells a little higher

So...does this mean the last try was good and you'll be ready to sand and buff in a few days once it cures?

Thanks you, and yes I am shooting for the Grand Rod Run in Pigeon Forge April 14th for the coming out party unless some one tells me of somewhere else better around that date.

I have been buffing a little today and did the first type compound on the tailgate, bedside, and half of a rear door. It is coming out really well.

Man, it would be nice to have an index to search the portions of your build.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.

Plodding through. I think maybe I am one/eighth of the way finished with buffing. Here are the 2 products I am using. The first one with a wool pad gets out the 1500 grit marks and the second one (black bottle) with a foam pad gets out the ghosting marks left from the first compound. I cut with the white stuff about 3 times with the lightest pressure on the last pass. I have only done a spot with the black foam pad stuff, so no tips on that yet.

Drew-

My paint guy swears by these same 3m products. I have also been using them for years since he was the one that taught me how to buff out a car. The cost of these materials it pretty decent as well..

Looking good my man!!

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.

Little tip, Drew... While not technically necessary, I like to wipe down between stages with a soapy rag. Also, knock your speed down from full while cutting the scratch out, to about 2/3 on the mid-cut, to about 1/3 on the final cut. You don't need a lot of the later stuff. A dab on the pad gets 'er done, and makes a lot less mess. Meguiars soft pads seem to help with swirls. Have fun!
