new owner 72 blazer
hey guys maybe you can help me. i just bought a 72 blazer 4wd. it has 44" tires and a lift kit not sure what size but this truck has no e brake only line lock. no hardware at all on kick panel brackets or cables. in Massachusetts every vehicle has to have an ebrake. the truck has 4 wheel disk brakes. the rear diff numbers are: 15595139. can u help me identify this rearend and tell me where to get all the hardware. thanks

I can't help you with the rear but I will have a complete factory ebrake setup. Pedal to the connectors that attach to the brake cables coming out of the rear. If interested let me know I will need to pull it all to get a picture.

It's best to post pictures of the truck and rear diff. Stock axle is 6 lug and if it has 44" tires I hope they upgraded the axles. Take pics when you get the truck in your possession.
I swapped a 2005 GMC 2500 truck rear axle with factory rear disc brakes AND e-brake. I will probably add an E-Stopp electric emergency brake with custom cables to pull the factory levers. Not cheap but allows for push button engagement and custom install. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/esc-esk001

The trucks axles are both 8 lug and I gues there 37 inch tires and the guy I bought it from said the truck had 1 ton axles

Check out this link above. Talk about perch widths. Basically it's a late 70s to 80s 14 BFF Axle. If it has brackets welded on for disc brakes, it's common to use front rotors and 70s Cadillac calipers with a lever for the emergency brake portion... Detailed pics with the wheel off will help ID what you have. You may also have to measure backing plate to backing plate to see if it came from a Single Rear Wheel (SRW), Dual Rear Wheel (DRW) or a Cab and Chassis (C&C). A cab and Chassis would have been ordered from the dealer as a truck with no thing on the back frame so the end user could build something. |
