A few years back when Amazon upped its game in the tablet market I purchased their Kindle HDX 8.5 Kindle. Love it.

Unfortunately it's been acting up for awhile now. I have to reboot it all the time because it freezes up. And it just dumps the WiFi signal even though the WiFi is strong.

Back when this started happening I noticed I was getting a few Amazon ads for the newer kindles. And I swear I'm getting more and more of them as my kindle gets worse and worse.

Coincidence? Cue the X File music ....

There has been rumours about this kind of stuff regarding Apple products for years. Older devices appear to slow down as the “newest” versions come to market. It just makes sense that all the other manufacturers would do the same thing.
It’s not something I’ve overly paid attention to as there isn’t really anything I can do about it.

I believe there is a self destruct sequence built into electronics....Ive had a bunch of electronic stuff go bad and it is amazing at how much of it goes bad shortly after the warranty runs out..

I think it has to do with operating systems. The older units arent supported anymore as the newer operating systems came into operation. My laptop has an older ops system and Firefox doesn't support it anymore - 10 years old. It works just slower and cant play video's shown on peoples posts.

I'm with CG, I had to buy a new kindle, not long ago because my kindle wouldn't turn on.
A few days after a bought the new one , the old new starting working again. I think it's a conspiracy!!!

Amazon big. Or actually much smaller than that is too big. A question surely the writers of the constitution would have addressed had they any idea what technology would come and what it could bring.

Just read a story about this exact thing , after signing up the company made it almost impossible to opt out/ cancel all the while collecting fees , By the time he went to court and lied he was fined $400,000 with $250,000 suspended after stealing millions from internet customers . You just never know ...
