Still can't figure out why some data plates are still blue and some, including mine, have turned black. Apparently, it has nothing to do with age. Mine's a 66.

Do you think it's possible that some were just blue and some were just black from the get go? I have a hard time picturing the blue ones some how changing to black. Seems like distinctly different colors from the factory.

That sounds logical. I guess I haven't researched it enough but all I ever seem to see are blue ones being reproduced.

Very nice indeed. With a find like that post as many pictures as you can of everything from under the hood to behind the seat. Any details that you can show really help others in how they looked and how things were done so we can better restore others. That is a find of a life time!

Haha that’s a good one. I’m working on putting the story together so was going to wait and get detailed pics after all cleaned up. I just got the truck, found her on eBay. Has been in Grand Junction Co since new, sold at Central Chevrolet to Louie who owned Louie’s Used Cars in Grand Junction......
