Electrical Problem, turn signal problem

Recently my turn left turn signal has started coming on at random. It fades in and out as if there is a short somewhere. If I turn the left signal on all of my lights blink in sink with the turn signal…..for example my tachometer light….license plate lights, etc. Any ideas?

Bulb may be burnt out or not making a good contact in the socket

I had a recent prob where I just traced all the wire made sure flasher was in all the way clean up the ground cables turned out I had a pinched wire shorting out.
also check that your emergency flasher button isn't pressed in.

Re: Electrical Problem, turn signal problem

Check the bulbs they were good. I'm going to check the flasher and maybe the voltage regulator. Was thinking that the switch in the column for the turn signal could be crossing and causing everything to go crazy.

Sounds to me like you have a grounding problem. Are all of the stock ground straps in place and making good contact?

Here is a thread on ground straps.

Agreed. I recently solved a similar problem by running a separate ground from the "glowing" blinker housing to the frame. My problem crept up after having removed the front bumper for powdercoating. I had taped the blinkers (72 c-10) up on the bumper support brackets, and then reinstalled. Something in all that movement disturbed the ground. And that's all it takes in a 40+ year old harness.

Now, if I could just solve the short in my panel lights!!
