Drop spindles and brake backing plates

What is everyone using for a backing plate on their drop spindles? Apparently Western Chassis doesn't sell them with their kits, which I am no longer a fan of. Instructions are a joke, service is terrible after the sale and the tech line is awful. Thanks for the help.

Re: Drop spindles and brake backing plates

Any 71-87 2wd backing plate should work.
I think ECE sells new ones.

Are backing plates necessary? Pros and cons?

Then I would cut them.
No big deal.

Re: Drop spindles and brake backing plates

I changed my Chevelle Over to disc and never put them on. Hade a little more brake dust on the inner wheel but never noticed anything else being affected.
