The dual master on drum brakes doesn't require the proportioning valve, just the separation of front and rear lines. But like you said if you go disc you'll need a prop valve.
But I agree, it's not broken don't fix it.

Rebuilt tranny is back in and did fine around the block, will run it around town tomorrow. New Nitro Slammer shocks up front are amazing. Who would have known shocks could make so much difference!

SO many people just don't "get" the rough rodder pickup look. I personally love going to car shows and searching out the ratty pickups and home built hot rods

Arts truck has a stock front solid axle thats lowered 4" with full leaf spring packs. His rear end is stock but with some springs removed. I have always liked project trucks that are driven. To me, once they get shiney paint i lose intrerest.

yup, my sentiments exactly. I used to be all about the perfect body and flawless paint. Now, the rattier the better. I'm going to paint mine but the small dings and dents in the fenders and marks in the box are all staying. That's all part of the character of a 60 year old pick up truck. That's the way I look at it anyways.

Nice job it looks original. I have a question for you about the bottom part where it says phone*1956. Back home in Kansas up until I left in 93, you would only have to dial four numbers to call anywhere in town. Is this what you were going after?

Yep, thats the idea back in time to the early 60's small town.

The '56 GMC Suburban Pick Up was a buddies project that he almost finished. He started it in 1974 and gave up on it in the early 90's . I bought it from him in '97 and its become my back burner project. I've redone some of the chrome and replaced the fiberglass parts.
I will have to start over on this build as he did not have the after market support and I'm thinking of a Camero Clip for it and all new wiring,paint and who knows what else.

My '57 Napco is another slow moving project, but its still drivable as the new chassis I'm building for it is in the corner waiting for me to get back to it. It will be 2 wheel drive, air ride, LS powered . The Theme will be the same as the '56 Chevy except it will be the owners ride.

Here's the rechromed bullets and grill bar for the '56 GMC and the '57 other chassis in the corner and one of last winters projects the complete rebuild and rebody of my '77 pick up trailer on the rack and behind my SSR.

it was in the 70's here yesterday, and I thought that was hot. You can tell it's been a LONG cold -40 winter when 74F feels hot

Out here, the first few days of 80-85 degree weather always feels sweltering to me. By the end of summer there have been 105-110 degree days and I LONG for 80-85. I guess we're never satisfied, lol.
