Not nearly what I expected to see when I clicked on it!
Cool Tortoise. 3/5 drop? Really though, how big is he? How old will he get? Looks to be huge!

Re: Layin' frame
He is just under 40# and can get up to 100# over the next 20 years. Its been a fun and unique pet to have. He can live anywhere from 50 to 150 years. He will be something in my will to some lucky person. They are a long time commitment.
This is my wife holding him when we picked him up in July 2011.

Wow, he's pretty cool looking and definitely not the run of the mill pet by any means! 6 yrs and grew almost 40# in that time? Sounds like they grow fast? Always amazing to me that many people have pets that will more often than not outlive them. My MIL has some sort of Parrot that is 30 something now that will live to 70 something. She is 69 now. Guess my kids will be taking care of the bird and me?

Re: Layin' frame
People have found wild turtles in the swamps that are over 100 years old. A domestic one that is taken care of could last for several generations. Very cool.

Re: Layin' frame
Haha! This reminded me of one time I was at the zoo and watching these guys. One was lumbering around and then stopped and just dropped to the ground and tucked his legs in. It looked like he aired out to lay frame. I wished I had my camera out for that.

Re: Layin' frame
That's the coolest lowrider I've ever seen. Trick panel paint job, lays frame, even has a tricked out belly pan, and it's an amphibious submarine!! How cool is that??

Re: Layin' frame
I second that. Laying frame in a 4wd camper special. I can imagine playing fetch , Frisbee or even going for a walk could be time consuming affair. Silly question. What do you feed him?

He's a vegetarian. Mostly its hay and dark green veggies. Im still trying to teach him how to return a Frisbee, but with no opposable thumb/claw makes it tough

Pretty neat! Looks like a basket weave paint job. Does he come to you when you call him? LockDoc

Re: Layin' frame
He doesn't come when you call, but he is always interested in me when i'm in his pen. If I let him out to graze in the yard, he doesn't know i'm around
