Aftermarket gauges for stock inst. cluster

Does anyone know if there are aftermarket gauges that will fit in the stock instrument cluster? I bought a new stock instrument cluster for my truck, but my engine has so much oil pressure, it buries the needle on the stock gauge. I need something that will show 90-100 psi.

Thanks in advance
Merle

I don't want to start some sort of internet war. As there are many opinions out there, but I would look at other issues first. Is the current gauge reading accurate? Have you checked against a known good gauge? 90 to 100 PSI is a LOT of oil pressure. If my engine was truly making that much oil PSI when it is warmed up I would find out why and fix that. The problem with that much pressure is it heats up the oil and that causes the oil to degrade quicker. Hotter oil means a hotter running engine. There can be other issues including less horsepower and decreased gas mileage. Good luck.

I didn't say it had that much pressure, but you want a gauge to read approximately mid range for accuracy, so I need the gauge to be 90-100 psi.

My bad. I made an assumption and now look rather dumb. Good luck with your search for a gauge.

Not a problem. My post was a tad unclear.
The stock engines produced about 45 psi max but mine is closer to 60 I would guess. It has a high volume pump, and I know the small blocks with the high volume pump made about 60-65 psi.

Autometer gauges will fit into the factory bezel

Autometer makes mech and elect gauges in many styles that go to 100psi for oil.

see them all here: http://www.autometer.com/gauges.html

I have a similar problem, as the stock gauge tops out at 60 PSI. I have inquired at LMC Truck about the pressure range of their aftermarket gauge, and expect to get the answer back in 2 or 3 days.

Those look good, but I don't want to change all the gauges.I just spent a lot of money for the new cluster. Thanks for the response though.

That is more like what I am looking for. Let me know how it turns out.

The only thing I know of is the 80# gauge out of some of the big trucks. I have a Tach, Vac, 80# cluster that came out of a C-50 but I don't know what year. I don't know for sure which ones had it but I bet member TBONE1964 does. He may also know if one of the later oil pressure gauges can be modified to work. I know they use the '73 up amp gauges in the '67-'72 clusters....
