Updated interest as of 1/24: flashed pm'ed an unwanted offer, shawnlo72 passed above in 2nd post & I haven't heard from rpmgroup since 1/21 @ 10:20. So they are both available yet and you can take your pic drewskiren. Let me know your ship to Zip and I can figure a total. Mel

I do not think one is better than the other, they are both problem free usable as is pieces. The orange one is orginal paint and the one you called white is actually grey primer over 1972 #525 yellow. Mel

Re: Pics for flashed, shawno72 & rpmgroup

Mel, I appreciate your efforts, but since the already powdercoated and ready to install one from LMC is $10 cheaper shipped than yours, it makes no sense to get yours unless it is more like $30 shipped. Let me know your thoughts.

Hey Guys, no offense was taken here I just cannot accept/end up with $12.-$15. after shipping a part that I only have a couple of and have gotten $40.-$50. for in years past. Lmc's p/n 38-3196 Taiwan piece will probably do each of you just fine @ $55. shipped, it looks like it could be built in the common weekender's garage and in my opinion will never be an equal replacement for the factory OE offered option #P13 piece while you can still find them. No harware was with either of these when they were removed from 70 & 72 trucks, I have only seen a couple of them with what I think is the correct threaded rod w/flat plate at one end, most guys just use a long 1/2" carriage bolt with a nut or wingnut. Cost for you would be $40. + $18. to Corryton Zip 37721. Mel

Re: Pics for flashed, shawno72 & rpmgroup

It's really none of my business, but I thought I would put my .02 in. I used to have the LMC spare tire holder on my truck and it worked fine. With that said, it is not even close to the original spare tire holders I have on now. The ones I bought were in the same, maybe worse condition than the ones you guys are looking at. I went to the auto paint store and had them mix an aerosol rattle can with my paint code, it was $20.00. I went home and sanded the parts down, sprayed them with primer, paint and clear from a rattle can and installed. Then I went to Ace Hardware and bought a 6 inch carriage bolt with some washers and a nut, drilled a hole in a piece of angle iron and there you have it, an afternoons worth of time.

It's an 8 year old post and the guy in front of you said he'd take both and sent payment. I bet they're gone
