Engineers...........

No offense to any that are on the board, but I am sure we all get this way sometimes working on our trucks, computers or whatever.

Re: Engineers...........

Not making Excuses for Engineer's but I worked in a Factory and each Engineer works on their project not really knowing what the rest are dreaming up.

Re: Engineers...........

I work in the power industry steam and gas turbines. It's the same there, the engineers never actually see what they're designing except on paper. When you call and ask for information (WTH were you thinking) they need a picture, description etc. Most of the time I have to engineer the fix and send them the change, they incorporate it into the drawings.

Re: Engineers...........

It takes years of schooling only to learn righty tighty lefty loosey ? all you need to know as a plumber is hot on the left cold on the right and crap won't run uphill , a designer knows if he/she flails their arms enough people will agree with her/his design just to get away from her/him. Being a contractor means you past the test not built the building ! Only good electricians get old ! Why is it the lowest paid least trained people make the food you put in your mouth ? People avoid Mexican beef yet pay to go there on vacation ? People flock to popular vacation spots only to sleep in beds that have been occupied by thousands of people from who knows where ? People won't openly post their phone number yet post their entire lives on face book ? I DON'T NEED TO SEE WHAT YOU HAD FOR LUNCH ! Why does anyone cover their license plate when posting pictures of their car? If more people carried guns there would be less crime Why do most tree huggers live in the city ?

Oh yeah. Once it’s off the assembly line, it’s another departments problem.

Re: Engineers...........

True story: When the 88 Chevy Silverado came out, it had a new type of windshield featuring encapsulated glazing, where the molding is made on the glass. GM had a presentation for glass shop owners to show us how cool the new glass was. One of the glass shop owners asked, "How do you replace it?" The engineer that was part of the presentation team said, "We don't know; we expect you'll figure it out and tell us."
