Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Doug, I was planning on you helping me clean my pig of a truck so we need to park close to one another to limit the distance to the cooler. Trust me....I take far away pictures for a reason....it's not near as nice as your truck!

Re: Project: Stella Mae

Button up a few loose ends (I still have a long list) but I got the seat in it and drove it for a few miles and let me tell you...it rides NICE! I forgot I was in a 39 year old truck. It handles the road very nice and reacts to my crazy driving (avoiding pot holes) with ease. I'm very please with the new Stage II Mild drop from Porterbuilt.

Anyway, while I had the seat out I had to cover it with something since it only had an old Western Auto seat cover (you can see the springs when the door is open). I bought a large Mexican Falsa blanket and laid it on top and tucked it all in.....hides most of the ugly! If you look at the pictures then flip over and look at tcb-1 truck you will notice mine is starting to look a little like his? except mines dirty!

Well it had a problem when I first got it and I thought I had resolved it but on the test drive it returned so it's running very poorly at the moment. I'll work on it sometime before I leave and see if I can get it running better.

n2billet,
i am sure you have covered this before, but i am wondering how you made the paint look "shiny"?? did you "color sand" it or spray something on it?? as usual anything you do (i am sure that your "touch" extends beyond just trucks!) turns out to be great! reading you guys getting together for shows makes me miss being in dallas, i was the same way with my "truck friends" out there.....

thanks!!

I just buffed it.......hard! No clear or sanding. It had a lot of overspray house paint on it and I wanted it see if I could get it off. It will fade back once it's out in the sun....

Thanks for the compliment......I surround myself with very talented friends

Re: Project: Stella Mae

We got the truck all ironed out and running well enough to take to the KC GoodGuys show this weekend.
*It rides GREAT!*
We also got to visit with some forum members and just sit back, relax and enjoy the weather....we could have used another day just to bench race and BS to one another though....
Here's some pictures of the finished truck.....

The killer blue truck is "69chevyshort" truck...
