Re: Cowl hood pics

I think cowl hoods are nice only in so far as it matches the truck. Would be good to see it, i'm sure someone here might like it.

Re: Cowl hood pics

When I bought my truck the previous owner had one for it, so I left it on. I could have went either way.

Re: Cowl hood pics

Here is one on my 69 and it actually functions, lowered the intake air temp almost 20 degrees on a hot day.

Re: Cowl hood pics

HaysonJ, I see that you sealed your intake to the cowl, did you build a flapper door like the the 70 Chevelle had? I've had this planned for a few years, I just haven't go to that point in my project yet. I plan on using most of the chevelle componets to get a functioning flapper.

No I did not put a flapper in it, just sealed it to take advantage of the low pressure on the windshield and a cooler air temp

Re: Cowl hood pics

Ok, in your picture there looks to be vacuum hose attached to your hood. I thought maybe someone had beat me to the idea! Either way, nice job! You really don't see anyone using the cowl hood the way it was designed to use.
